I just want to see a lot more youth on this team next year. If they are going to finish with 85 points or so with a bunch of vets on the team, might as well finish with 80 and let the kids get experience. And for (frank)s sake, can we get a few forwards with some size and a little snarl too???
Come the start of 18-19 I just want to see the following traded, gone or in the press box:
Simmonds, Filppula, Lehtera, Weise, Leier, Weal, AMac, Manning and Neuvirth
Lets get guys like Sanheim, Morin, Lindblom, and Vecchs into the lineup plus some of what we can get back for trading Simmonds
This team needs to be younger, faster, bigger and more skilled. I can be patient waiting for them to gain experience and gel into a winner, but I'm tired of watching too many of the guys we have now. And for the love of God, if you aren't going to fire Hak after this season, at the very least make some changes with the assistants. You can't just come back with the same staff.

I'd like to see some of this around the TDL.
Also I wonder how ready a guy like Allison could be. I know he is coming right from college but he has the NHL size and shot and plays a heavy game. I wonder if he could be closer to NHL ready then maybe some in Lehigh |

Hak and Lappy have to go. They have had years to show they can get a team ready to play every night/ a penalty kill to look cohesive, and they have failed. |

I know...I am just poking fun at the fact that they might be slightly biased - YuenglingJagr
oh right well that also means they believe the system they are playing is not the problem. I'm on the be more aggressive train.
they were fun to watch at the beginning of the season then that 0-5-5 stretch happened and I get having to switch things up but I am hating the less aggressive forcheck |

I’d do
Provorov-Hagg
Amac-ghost
Sanheim-Gudas - Just5
I'm okay with that but haven't been sold on what I've seen from Provorov and Hagg together. |

I agree. I just want to see them replace Hak with an experienced NHL coach. Between Berube and Hak, I've had enough with first time head coaches and guys with no pro experience. The kids on this team deserve better.

All of this, yes please. I wonder, how do some roster players (guess the upper talent) feel about the minimal changes over the years? From the assistants to the players on the team. If you’re Jake G or even Simmonds, are you frustrated that the same awful PK coach is still holding a job for years? Are you unmotivated as a person and / or player when you feel little is being done to help yourself and your teammates? I don’t know the answers I’m just curious. |

Right now, FWIW, I'd try:
Provorov-Gudas
Ghost-Hagg
Sanheim-AMac
I know Gudas has struggled, but he's still, next to Provorov the best defender this team has. Give Provy a better partner to match up against top lines with.

I dont think Gudas has struggled much at all since being back and last night I thought he was one of the better Flyers on the ice |

Honestly, I think it's time for Hextall remove Hak and bring in Darryl Sutter. Otherwise the rest of this season is going to be the same old poop, and there are 43 games left. |

If the season continues how its started I think this will be their last year. Still love a lot of what Hexy's done but patience starts running out at years 4 & 5. He needs to start getting some results from the team hes building. |

My guess is a guy like Giroux loves Lappy from playing with him early in his career. I would think that they are much for frustrated seeing guys like Hartnell and B. Schenn go without anything tangible, at least from a player's perspective, coming back. I very much doubt that the Flyers top forwards give a (frank) that Morgan Frost is tearing up the OHL right now. Personally, I get the deal and I'm fine with it, but I can't imagine any of the core players were thrilled with it.
I have no idea what they think of Hak, but I doubt he's held in the same respect that guys like Babcock, Sullivan, Trotz, Hitchcock, etc.. are. Even a guy like John Stevens in LA probably is held in much higher regard. He's been with his team for a long time and was part of a staff that won multiple Cups. No NHL player, unless they actually played for Hak in college, is going to give a (frank) that he won a lot of games in North (frank)ing Dakota. |

Hindsight and all, but I still do find it weird that Sanheim made the team out of camp instead of Morin who I thought played damn well.
There was obviously a certain quota of young D they were going to let play, and felt Sanheim was the better choice. |

I can’t imagine Hextall sat through that game last night without feeling the need to do something, anything!!! to the makeup of this team. Whether it’s firing Hak, trading someone, etc. totally gutless and embarrassing loss.
Seems like yesterday that these Flyers/Pens games were far and away the most entertaining of the year. Win (most of the time) or lose, I knew those Pens games would be intense and hard fought. Then I realize this hasn’t been the case for almost 5 (frank)ing years! Same old song and dance with this team. |

It's be clutch if they win the lottery again or at the very least jump more than 5 spots.

Imo the longer that Hex stands pat and foolishly loyal to his coaches, the more the eyes will shift to him as well. Rightfully so.

I think that Hak had his mind set on 3 offensive guys (Provy, GHost, Sanheim) to pair with 3 stay at home guys (Gudas, AMac, Hagg)
If it was up to me, I would have let Sanheim start the season in LHV playing #1 Dman minutes and I would have gone with:
Provorov-Gudas
Ghost-Hagg
Morin-AMac
But hey, we're just fans, what the (frank) do we know? |

I can’t disagree with any of this. Looking back, I’d be pretty damn pissed with the Hartsy trade as a player. He was a big presence in the locker room and a fan favorite but I guess that didn’t have an impact to wake up some guys. I suppose the same could be said for Schenn minus him being a leadership presence |

I also get they wanted a veteran guy in there so help/teach the kids. That makes sense. Its dumb that as an organization you basically settled on Andrew MacDonald to be that guy for your team for years now with no change in sight. |

Can anyone provide any insight on how this draft compares to last years? Last years was labeled as a “drop off” outside the top 2 picks. All I know about this years is it’s Defense-heavy and that Dahlin is God |

I would love that myself but if people are complaining about boring hockey now, Sutter would be worse.
Unfortunately "He's the guy," Hextall said. "Dave Hakstol is our coach and he's going to remain our coach." |

I haven't even looked much. i am still curious to see what happens this year and at the TDL.
There are some solid wings at the top of the draft. The czech kid looks good.
Can i also say from watching Sushko at the world juniors, he looks like a solid prospect. He is bigger then I expected and has a nice shot. |
