Aside from the Elliott signing I've lost a lot of faith in Hextall this season. I sincerely hope he proves me wrong and does something significant but I really doubt it.

I think people want to see some more toughness out of the top six. Simmonds is just not an even strength top six player. And it's not just about having a goon to fight between the whistles. It's muscling guys off pucks, winning board battles and driving the puck to the other teams net.

If they trade Simmonds presumably for young, cheap players then they are in no rush to clear AMac off the cap.
