So...what are the options? Are Markstrom and Nilsson trade-able? Can Nilsson be just sent away and we find another backup? Roll with Marky and just take our chances? I mean, Markstrom had a decent start when we were healthy but both of these goalies are just brutal...there has to be an option. - LordHumungous
Were a bad team with bad goalies, just ride out the storm for this year.

Vanek and Boeser still look dangerous. But outside of Dowd looking solid and Chaput showing balls that Sutter wish he had, there wasn't much positive to come out of this game. Speaking of Sutter, that guy is officially the Tanev of forwards, except not as good.
Edler on the PP is WD-level of insanity, the guy is too stupid offensively to be the point man on the PP.
Gagner and LE are soft serve cream puffs and passengers on their lines. These guys are luxury pieces you add to a contending team. Not stabilizing vets or even stopgaps for rebuilding teams. 9M combined with multiple years still left....(frank) off. And no GM will be stupid enough to take these guys and I don't want any young guys watching and "learning" from these twinkies. Brutal signings. I'd rather overpay Gudbranson. It's actually infuriating watching these guys play when you know what their contracts look like and how much term is left as well.
You can't rip Nonis/Gillis for their contracts and then just write off these stupid ass signings for Benning. Hopefully Vantel decides to "Yann Sauve" them both #LTIR - Nucker101
Nice rant Nucker. Gagner is brutal. LE is at least proficient in his own end, but I agree looked pedestrian out there last night

perhaps maiden deserves it own genre.
Yes bruces stuff was great and his vocals were maiden like at time but the music wasnt even close. Youd need these guys to make that happen, starting with steve harris.
If you had to pick 1 maiden song to describe maiden what would you pick? I'll chose To tame a land
https://youtu.be/1Aa2OqjP9tY Piece of mind was what brought them to stardom if you ask me. "The trooper" is played at almost every nhl game on a regular basis. - SMBDragon
That's a tough one as you can make an argument for so many based on impact and specific years. If I had to pick just one for me it would be 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner'. For me not only does it represent the peak of the band musically, that album Powerslave was their 'peak moment'... 'arguably'. Other albums may have had some better tracks...but the impact of that record in their career solidifies their talent level and for me that track shows a ton about the band and would represent it nicely. |

queen will always be one of my all time favs. Mercury to me was probably the best rock voice and vocal style. One of the best ever for sure - SMBDragon
What's most surprising is that at one point he sang opera, which explains a lot about his range and how all his songs are more like rock operas than rock songs. I don't think many bands can boast the sheer amount of songs Queen did that were either theme songs for TV shows/movies in the 80's. Off the top of my head, Flash Gordon, Highlander (movie and TV series), Iron Eagle. I'm sure there's more though. |

The kids are playing big minutes, entertaining hockey, sucks we arn't winning but most thought this was a lost season anyways. We'll get a good draft pick from JB and at least we arn't Edmonton.
No need too female dog and moan.

Fair enough. Thanks for the detailed write up.
Being a right handed shot it would be nice to see him paired with Skjei. Unfortunately they abandoned trying McDonagh with Shattenkirk early in the season and have not revisited it in a meaningful way. Could also try Tanev with McDonagh.
Not much available in terms of right handed D and they always cost a ton. What kind of injuries has Tanev been through? - JRR1285
Tanev is one of the best defensive defense man in the league, he is atrocious at offense but if paired properly he would be a great addition to the rangers. The Canucks are not going anywhere in terms of success for a few years, so Tanev to the Rangers for picks and/or prospects could be possible, (if he waived to go there).
AV is very familiar with him, what's the offer? |

LOL are being generous but we could have a shot vs EDM or MTL I guess.
Looking at the numbers Van would have to outright win 30 of their next 42 games to even get a sniff of the wildcard. Hopefully the powers that be realize this and we go hard for Dahlin. |

yes... how did I overlook that song? To tame a land is another great choice though. Basically epitomes their sound. Ya powerslave was such an amazing album. Really like seventh son as well

paired with Shattenkirk, they would have an actually functional top4 again as Shatt is so bad in is end.
Brady Skjei and a 2nd coming back our way please |

Can this be classified as another bad Benning signing
He has played for several teams desperate for goaltending and been moved out by all of them. Islanders, Oilers, St Louis and Buffalo all gave up on this sieve that had 1 mediocre backup season with buffalo...brutal. |

they just keep churning out epic tunes over the decades.
the latest album "book of souls" is actually pretty good. Cant say it has an epic tune of that calibre but non the less a decent maiden album. Saw the tour, pretty amazing |

Got Book of Souls...a good effort overall. I was very fortunate to see them on the actual Powerslave tour in the 80's when Twisted Sister opened. It was my first big Arena rock show and I was totally hooked after that. Also saw them on the Seventh Son tour (when metal was basically dead in the late 80's) then also saw them on that re-juvinated tour Somewhere back in Time that was around 2005 I believe. That tour was unreal good but Powerslave will always stand out for me as one of my largest childhood memories. Not only did it hook me into metal for good but they truly were peaking at that time. It was an exceptional thing to see I feel very grateful for having been able to go. |
