I certainly defended some of his moves, however, he's weakened their offense and guys that were playing well last year are not this year. In short, he's made a mess of things there and Talbot isn't saving his ass this year.

Waiving him/minors might be the best thing to do at this point.
Bringing up Demko may not be the best idea with this bunch, but they are getting healthier.
I know the development crew might not like it(I am big on development myself), but he is 22, has spent 2 years in college and 1.5 seasons in Utica.
A pretty good goalie in Holtby was on a similar development path D+3.5

They started, or rather committed, to a rebuild eight seasons ago. Before that they were a perennial bubble team trying to get that eighth playoff spot and it got them nowhere. 2006 they finished 2nd in the Northwest and made a run to the finals, after that they tried again for a couple seasons and then said (frank) it after 2009 and went full rebuild.

Oilers last season, to celebrate new digs and full year of McJesus as new face of NHL, had the best schedule in the league. It had the least back to backs for and most against other teams. Vegas got similar treatment this season for money gift only to owner's pockets.

Their drafting under Lowe was so bad and then they got unlucky to tank in bad draft years. Serves them right for winning all those Cups
