Just the way it happens sometimes. Same with Aaron Rodgers. The teams who drafted a QB (frank)ed up and then no one really needed a QB more than they needed other positions. And no one thought he'd be that good. I thought he was the best of that class, but I didn't think he'd be the class of the league.

I do not think people were mocking you for it.
I think it was more like trying to justify the picks made.

Nylander was highly regarded in that draft year, as was Silent Sam in his.
Let’s face it...these kids have a poop ton of talent..but the f-it-up either through taking a careless approach to their career, or they have head issues. Not sure how/if a scout picks that up

This is true. OSU D has been making life difficult for USC. Even still, I've seen Darnold miss some really easy throws (relatively speaking) I would expect a highly rated draft prospect to make.

I just can't believe it. Everything from the gimmick of the outdoor game to the gimmick of wearing Bills jerseys. We threw it all up in the air. We lent our very cursed, very not so successful Buffalo brand to our most prominent national team and it worked out. We, Buffalo, USA, added a piece of hockey lore that can never be re-created or duplicated. And then the Amerks and Sabres did us a solid by rounding out the day.
