You never answered me. How do you know he's not told to give up the line? There's no way you go 8 games without a single breakup, even if by accident, the other guy made a poor stickhandle. That's all it would take. I see him yielding the line without attempting to breakup the play all the time. Look at Barzal's goal the other night, he got on his heels immediately instead of standing up and risking Barzal going in alone.

He was told to protect the net last year....
He was partnered with Gorges before that....

The dude scored a nice game winner. But there’s always excuses for his poor defensive numbers. He just isn’t very good.

Guhle & Nylander could likely play a big part in our success/failure next season as well
