On Casey..

There's no way possible he's going to sign a contract to play in the AHL it's either the Sabres or back to college

And the Sabres are sure as hell ain't going to lie to him because that would build a bad relationship

I could see Mittlestadt making the jump next year. Boeser had 34 pts in 32 games last year at North Dakota. Similar size. Similar age. Look what he’s doing this year. Clayton Keller is another kid who jumped right in. I could see the same from Middlestadt. I don’t see him as a kid who’s intimidated by the spotlight...but seems to thrive on it. He’s got grit and grind as well. Different from Nylander in that regard.

I think the most impressive thing about Mittelstadt is that you can tell he wants the puck. He wants to score and is not afraid to take the puck to the net, he's a shoot first, pass second guy and we really need a guy with high-end skill and loves to shoot. I wish Eichel would be a bit more selfish when it comes to shooting.

If I'm him I'm not throwing away a good life in college to play in the poopy AHL and be on a bus etc and plus you get a guaranteed salary

It would be an ELC, not am Amerks contract. The fastest way to the NHL would be to play a couple games this year, then go to the minors and tear up the playoffs.

I don't think he's gonna turn down an incentive laden deal and a chance to make almost 3 mil a year

if they want to be good next year, sign him in the summer and put him on jack's wing

if they are tanking next year, let him spend another year as a gopher

I agree that when he signs his contract this year it's for NHL game. And then he's going to go to the AHL but he could go his own path and sign up for that USA Hockey League that the players usually do

But I'm talking about next year there is no way in hell he's going to the AHL

the only incentive on an entry deal, is to sign in april and burn the first year during the last month of the season

Right now I don't have a bench but in your opinion do you think I should have one because there is going to be teams on bye and you're basically going to have no points for that player

assuming you are going 10-12 teams

2 bench spots

one for rb
one for wr

if you are going 6 teams

you can expand the bench where everyone gets 2 qbs

Eichel got some custom incentives for PPG and such. I assume they could do that with Mittelstadt

these are contracts that can have incentives

The player is on an entry-level contract.
The player has signed a one-year contract and is over 35 years old.
The player has signed a one-year contract after returning from a long-term injury (has played 400 or more games, and spent 100 or more days on the Injured Reserve in the last year of their most recent contract).
