Botts has a lot of work on his hands. Housley is lost as a coach. There is zero leadership or accountability. How Busthart hasn't seen the press box is a complete misery. I agree with keeping the kids down and not exposing them to this poophole of a team right now.

How did we look without him on Monday?

How did we look last night with him back in the lineup?

I think it’s hilarious how the pack mentality decides to focus on certain players.

Last nights game was not lost by ROR, or Lenner, or Scandella.

Nolan Kane and Sam all had beauties and time, and all three of them choked. Well, no, Nolan didn’t choke, he just SUCKS. (I wasn’t sure he was going to even successfully carry the puck into the O-zone on his breakaway.)

We need to score more goals. That’s the beginning and the end.

I don't see how you can say both Botts has a lot of work and Housley is lost as a coach. Are you saying that a different coach would have us in the playoff hunt? Or if we had better players would Housley still be lost? The team is starting to play more like Housley wants them to and are playing better. The results aren't there yet, but they don't look completely incompetent out there anymore. How do you explain Rochester's success? They are playing Housley's system.

Housley looks as lost as the rest of the team. If it was a team of just youngsters, then I'm sure he'd have more of a voice, but being a rookie coach himself, I think he's struggling too. It's about gravitas and power and he doesn't have it yet. i'm not saying that the players shouldn't listen to him, because they absolutely should, but some aren't and I don't think he's handling it very well.

Game of god damn hot potato. No one wants to touch the C.

Not the C you perverts are thinking about

What is so critically important about someone wearing the C?

Are these becoming more frequent? I remember it was bad with Vokoun and he had to retire, but seems like there's been one each year since...

There's no tangible difference. At the same point, when the Stanley Cup gets hoisted...is it ever 3 assistant captains doing it?

Not sure what it means, but perhaps having one identifiable commander is a positive.

Was there ever a team that won the SC without one?
I'm too lazy to find the answer.

It's funny because the last time we were really good we had 2 captains and nobody cared then

I believe the Bruins did it. They had no official captain from 67-73 from what I read, but they won in 1970 and 1972. I thought Bobby Orr was on the team then, so would have thought he was C, but I'm probably wrong and my laziness has kicked in as well.

Nice picture. I remember him wearing the "A" here in buffalo. Wonder if being captain has anything to do with players listening and respecting what you have to say.

Lindy had the players ears . He was a captain

He was wearing a letter for almost every franchise he's played for and he's a HOF'er...if they aren't listening, they are at fault IMO.

Fair enough. I never liked housley as a player. Too soft.

He seams like a quiet leader . Kinda like jumbo shrimp

What has he done? He isn't good either.
Very slow, can't score on open nets.
He fits in perfect, 0 goals

Ding Ding Ding!!!
BINGO.
It was a trap question.

They don’t need a player to have a C...
They need PLAYERS to have the intangibles you mentioned
...and they are void of it right now.
Although, I have really liked Jack’s play much better at both end of the ice AND the words coming out of his mouth coupled with the improvement in his body language.
He is evolving before our eyes, kinda fun to watch.
