The Sabres played well and easily could have won in regulation time if:

1) Nolan scores on breakaway
2) Kane scores on semi breakaway
3) ECHL scores on semi breakaway on a beauty pass from Girgs
4) Bogo is playing for another team and doesn't dish the puck to the Islander who passes it for the game tying goal
5) Reinhart buries that chance with 2 seconds left. BTW - on a beauty pass from Girgs

I liked how Housely didn't park the bus tonight. They played hard right to the end and deserved better.

Regarding O/T:

1) where was Jack when O/T started?
2) why can't Lehner make a timely save for us? Five hold to end it was brutal.

I don't think Lehner is an NHL goalie. He just benefits from being huge and wearing huge equipment. That's why he's routinely exposed in 3 on 3 OT and shootouts.

However he's not the problem. Lowest scoring team in the league is the problem. Have to fix that first.

He covers a lot of net and has good positioning, but he can't move side to side quickly. He's lost once a rebound is kicked out or he goes against a player who can dangle the puck. He's a good backup, but will never take a team deep in the playoffs. We seriously need to consider Ullmark as the start next season and do some research on signing a quality backup, time to move on from Johnson as well.

The fact he is so bad in ot and shootout is just mind numbing... you could put some guy from the crowd in net and he would stop one shootout attempt sooner then lehner.

With this deep draft, it's time to fire sale and load up on picks. This time we need to make those picks (stupid Murray). We should actually end up with a nice haul if GMJB plays his cards right.

The price for Kane is a 1st, prospect, and another pick.
CJ might bring back a 3rd.
Lehner might fetch a 2nd.
