Kid has no business playing here next year
- SABRES 89

I think it's possible that he could. If he does sign this year, and say the Amerks went deep in the playoffs, or even won the Calder and he had a ton of points, it wouldn't be hard to say that he learned everything he needed to in the minors

He may play 20 games in the AHL max; as Craig Button said last night young, skilled players now make a much quicker impact in the NHL. He might play one more year in college but he won't play in the AHL if he does.

I don't really recall you picking Leon, I remember you picking Bennett but if you want to go back to the archives and prove me wrong go for it.
- GilPerreault11

On that list, I picked Leon. I don’t have it, Herelzied(sp) does.

I liked Reinhart the least of the three though, but didn’t think he’d be this bad

Why not? That's like saying eichel should have played in rochester as a rookie.

You either have "it" or you don't.

He is 1 and done in college. Can we agree on that?

Amerks in a deep playoff run with a first line of C.J. Smith - Mittelstadt - Baptiste

Bring them up together, and hopefully they become the 3 missing pieces of the top 6 to go with Eichel, ROR and either Reinhart, Kane, or Okposo

Guys I think are playing at the level their contract justifies, off the top of my head
(Production commensurate with cap hit)
-Eichel, has really amped up his game at both ends of the rink...next year the expectations go up considerably
-Kane, the best thing is that he has more assists than goals in a high goal production year so far
-Pouloit, low cap hit but would like to see more consistency
-ROR, is on the edge so he needs to up his offensive output
-ERod, small sample size and low contract value combine to make his production thus far acceptable...however that could change very quickly since the sample size is so small...better rating would be inconclusive
-Antipin, relatively low cap hit, transition year, trending up
-McCabe, nice contract with some offensive production, trending up

I’m also ok with
-Marco Scandella, playing better after slow start, hoping for continued improved play (needed adjustment time after=injury?)
-Lehner, but needs to continue producing at current rate, and transfer that play to road games not just home games

Point is, they need a sh!t load of help...Botts should be making several trades today to get out in front of it, lol!

Eichel's situation was different, when he came into the league this team was supposed to be on the rise, things are different yet again. Let him play a year or half a year in the AHL to work on his pro game even more.

I personally see everything your looking for in a nhl star.
Shot
Knowing where to be
Passing
Skating
Stick handling
Will to win

I'm not basing this just on 1 game vs. Denmark.

Silent sam looked so lost in his 1st 9 game season in buffalo.

Casey like Homie said
Is the best talent we have drafted since moGilby (excluding eichel )

I'm not trying to be a homer:
Silent sam = bust
Nylander = soon to be bust
Casey = star

Sounds about right
However, I agree with the Clown, let’s slow our roll just a bit.
While he played great and had some very nice skills in tight spaces, it was also Denmark. I loved what I saw, but in reality, that game last night was a power play for 57 minutes...let’s make further evaluations after he plays against Finlan’s D, Sweden’s deep team and Canada’s relatively no name club

- IonSabres

he played Sweden in a pre-tourney game Scored a goal and had an assist in that game.

This sabres season mirrors the mceichel draft year. (Thank god its not the #23 tank year)

Making no effort to improve
Strongly rated top picks in the draft/ with a top guy in rasmus dahlin that everyone would want
Hiding players in rochester
Signing mezarios / signing tennyson
New coach
Scoring very few goals
trading any Ufa away at the deadline (hasn't happened yet)
Trading away both goalies (maybe)

After this year you try and improve, jump in the points, still pick top 10

I think we need to do a few 2 for 1 trades

get rid of 2 roster players, get a good prospect in the 21 year range and a blah player to plug with the big club for the rest of this season

move lehner for a sh!tty goalie for the big club and a prospect

make rochester great again

no more pommers coming back

coach and gm wants up tempo team, so every freaking player they get back, on the prospect side, needs wheels

if we retain 2.5 mil of pommer for this year and next, what can we get for a return?

both gopher games I watched, the kid was clearly the best player in the game talent wise

a little bit of a puck hog, I am sure that changes when he moves up to the big level

That trade was pretty good :
Pommer worth more in buffalo than anywhere else (former captain and fan favorite )
Scandella - decent 4th d / reasonable term/length

For

Ennis - not good
Foligno - not good

I agree. Why rush him? Next year is shaping up to be another rebuilding year. Botts needs to dig us out from some of these albatross contracts to free up cap space. As well, we need to properly develop these kids vs rush them. If we can get a top 3 pick this year and top 5 next year, we should be in a good shape to compete in 2 years.

I actually like what they did contract wise with Foligno. He's a nice role player. We definitely got the best player though (Scandella)

but they want up tempo north-south game

pommer does not fit that and we will not be good next year

my guess was they got pommer hoping they might be decent this year

For a playoff team he would be a valuable asset. Don't think a 2nd is out of the question. or a solid b prospect.
