It doesn't matter anyway you slice it he's still German blood hell he would have been on the German World Juniors if he did not wait for the Canadian team to call him he was 5 minutes away from joining Germany

What team is he on right now ?

Now isn't the point. Joe Thornton and Rick Nash aren't Swiss just because they played in Switzerland during the lockout.

I'm talking about formative years. Dany Heatley played for Canada, he was their leading Olympic scorer as of 2010. The hockey community sees him as Canadian. Yes, he is German, but he is not a German hockey player. You're being intentionally dense.

Lol he's German you can't change that ..

I'm talking about German blood I don't give two poops if he played in Canada your argument started saying Leon draisaitl did not have successful counterparts and that would be incorrect he had Dany Heatley

Jesus (frank)ing Christ...

Then all the Canadians and Americans would all be natives. You're telling me all those who identify as Canadian and American are full of poop? See where your argument goes?

Not that facts matter around here, but Heatley was born of Canadian parents who happened to live in Germany, since his father was playing professional hockey there. When his dad’s career was kaput theyovef back to their home town of Calgary.

His dad is Canadian, however he met his mother in West Germany when he was playing overseas. Dany was born in Germany in '81 and they moved back to Canada in '84. If anything he probably has a duel citizenship. I know lots of people in similar situations because they or their parents were stationed overseas in the military.

His mother is German. He has dual citizenship.

He played for team Canada, is described as a "German-born Canadian former professional ice hockey winger".

Went to the USA game last night.

CM is really (frank)ing good, and it was really refreshing to finally watch some exciting, fast paced hockey where guys can pass AND score!

Really, a wild concept.

This is how I feel when I have gone to see a couple of Bolts games this year. It is fun to watch, and puts the crap the Sabres are throwing out there as a cure for insomnia.
