This site has been dead for a couple of years now. Bloggers that were active and engaging are leaving and being replaced with lesser product. There’s nothing here to attract new users and regular users drift away with a lack of material to discuss.

Blogs need to be something you don’t find anywhere else. The Sens blogs are thin and unoriginal. Just a Coles notes version of what TSN, Sportsnet, etc are already doing. You don’t need to read a Sens blog to know about what the comments are going to be. There’s nothing in the content to trigger a new/unique discussion. Yost was great at doing that as were others that have come and gone.

It’s too bad. This site can get great dialogue that is easy to follow. There are other sites you can chat with random fans, but I find most of them are difficult to follow when you want to have a good convo going.

I will say that there was a time when I thought Yost was the best blogger on the site. Unfortunately he started to go down hill and lose perspective with his "advanced" stats. He finally lost his mind and jumped the shark when he determined the "true value" of a first overall pick solely by analyzing the average games played in the NHL by round selected; completely ignoring the impact of different players.

Dion still holds value as a 2nd pairing D, yes he is over paid but what he brings in leadership as we long as he is used properly i'm fine with.
Ryan needs to step it up and stop braking his fingers.

My guess is that they might make some minor changes, they will resign Karlsson and Duchene and all the big name players. Hopefully dump Burrows and in the next season or two start looking for a new #1 Goalie and getting rid of contracts as Chabot, White, etc start making it in the NHL

Do you recall what you paid for dion?

The sale price is a lot worse than that now

Nobody wants dion or ryan

Trading karlsson is a huge change in direction.

Hoffman is next most expensive (assuming they don't embarrass themselves and tade Duchenne at a huge loss)

i think dion is easily moveable if ottawa eats 2 mil

we aren't getting a great return, but i'm sure they could get a 2nd and a decent (not great) prospect if they ate some of his cap hit. he's still a decent 2nd pairing dman

i agree that ryan is pretty unmovable......too injury prone and inconsistent

Yeah, i feel the same. Was always a fan, but as the analytics took over i was less interested.

But, that seemed to work for him as the analytics appears to be what got him a job with TSN.
