mostly...they were all heart with very little skill, but they'd never be outworked and were the scrappiest bunch you'll ever see
- Michael Pachla

This version of the team could use a Michael Peca as it’s heart and sole a rugged player with talent. Loved the way he played the game.

The jury is out on him to be sure.
Yes he is young, no he ain’t t dominating the A as one would expect in a top 8 draft pick in his 2nd season down there.

Yes, if Nylander isn’t an NHL caliber player yet.

Did you have fun watching Grigorenko?

Yeah I did, but that guy couldn't skate

Nylander as is, will bring the same production as Girgs or Pouliot. He'll get better playing with speed and talent.

Bring him up and start him as: Nylander ROR Okposo until they trade Kane and let Nylander and Eichel show us some Tim Connolly talent.

most contending cores are 6 or 7 guys. I really only identify Jack, ROR and to a lesser extent Risto as core pieces.

Not quick to get rid of those last two cause I wanna see what theyd look like as part of a full core not this half assed mish mash of guys some idiot liked in ottawa.

It's funny, I was reading about Botterill and Rutherford and how they have a good relationship and how Botterill has a list of players he liked in Pittsburgh that he'd like to trade for.

It's tough to wait on guys like Nylander because we know the team is not terribly far from playing good hockey now. But our lack of talent on the wings isn't NYlander's fault, nor is it Guhle's on the defense. It's that fact that from 2008-14 we draft and developed like poop except for the occasional oddball like McCabe that came through.

Why would we want a fish/the bottom of someone's foot?

Woah woah woah. Girgs isn't in the same ballpark as pouliot. Girgs is sub-replacement level

One has score 8 goals this year, 1 has scored 8 goals in the past 103 games

maybe...but there was the lockout which kinda muddles it...I see where you're coming from, though

I really have no clue what Girg's value to this team is. He doesn't excel at anything, he can't score or make plays, he doesn't hit or fight, he belongs nowhere near the top 6 or PP, he's just a body that skates around out there like the Sabres were down a man for a pick-up game and they said we have no other option, grab a jersey.

He'll be out of the NHL in 3 years. A fun trivia question about which Latvian player was an NHL allstar in his rookie season

He sucks. Why would a team want him when they can get the same production and a player who can stay on his feet for the rookie minimum?

So I do agree given his production over the past 2-1/3 seasons.
But, I still maintain he played much, much better the last 2 games..I actually noticed his jam and he created havoc down low. That said, production counts, which has been that of an AHLer over those seasons.

He needs a change of scenery and I would take a 3rd for him at this point.
