No one can know for sure, but he doesn't seem happy with results and made mention of cutting payroll. As I don't think anyone would willingly take on Phaneuf or Ryan's contract, the next logical step is Hoffman. I don't they're talking scorched earth as they likely plan to try to keep Karlsson, but what they have isn't working so a retool seems likely.
