I think Kane for Cole is an excellent trade.

I'm not saying that Kane isn't a VERY talented player. I just think you have to consider what he ends up doing to your team chemistry, which I would think is really quite good in Pittsburgh as it stands right now.

Adding 40+ points to the defending Stanley Cup champs would do nothing but positives for team chemistry.

Man are the Sabres a joke of a franchise. They tank for two years, trade a bunch of youth and picks away for Kane, Bogosian, Lehner and O'Reilly and make some bad free agent signings. Now they are worse than ever. What a dog show. Three years later, they are forced to trade their best player in Kane for pennies on the dollar. In this case for the Dman who is being scratched. Back to the drawing board boys. And by the way. We are paying a 21 year old 10M next year when he is currently worth half of that. Good job boys

1) Kane is not their best player.

2) Cole was scratched for a couple of games for reasons likely to do more with issues other than the quality of his play.

3) They're paying Eichel what anyone else would pay him. He hasn't even begun to show you guys what he's capable of. His points-per-game are rising each season and with his four point night tonight which included a hat-trick, he continues to develop, get better and grow.

4) I'm sure Sabres fans are glad you're not with them.

1) Yes he is. Best player in the league.

2) Cole would become their new best player, he was only scratched to avoid injury for when he gets traded

3) Whoever this Eichel kid is, he should probably be making about $1M

4) Sabres fans would love this guy

How are the Sabres going to look at the Oreiley trade in 2 years when Compher is a better and younger player and Zadorov is a legit top pairing dman? Sakic takes a lot of crap right now but in a few years he’s going to look like a genius for what he got in trades. It’s already starting to bear fruit.

The old saying of if it's not written down it doesn't count or it's never been said.

Not sure what to make Cole for Kane. Now replace the l for a k & I know that's going to be a winner.............

The Pens don’t, but that doesn’t mean they can’t make space.

Cole for Kane straight-up is not a good trade for BUF, but I also think people here underestimate how good Cole is.

I mean, that's fair or Buffalo could retain salary but that would be dumb of them to do.

For me Buffalo should keep Kane and use him as a cornerstone for a rebuild or tweak with JE, ROR etc. Buffalo, kind of like Ottawa, on paper are a decent team.

I've never been that impressed to Cole to be honest, He kind of reminds me of a less talented and not as hard working Chris Kunitz. In the sense that he gets some timely goals.

The pens are going to have around 3.12 million dollars in banked cap space come deadline time... Trading Cole should free up enough space to fit Kane's prorated salary for the rest of the year.

Not to be antagonizing, but outside of the Pens/Sens series last year you clearly don't really watch Cole.

You know he's a defenseman, right?

Yes I know, what I meant by he reminds me of Kunitz is that he tends to make timely plays when the pressure is on like Kunitz does. It was meant to be a compliment.
