Going to the funeral, I mean game tonight. Nash or Gaborik jersey? - JRR1285
You were a Gaborik jersey, its a 100% certainty he scores. |

Betts was an awesome 4th liner and PK'er - mdw7413
And his reward was letting him go to sing Donald Brashear. Such a Rangers move. |

(frank)ing Brashear wrecked him. Then they let Betts go and sign Brashear the next season. - mdw7413

Don't think that happens unless they are completely out of it by the trade deadline. Also would be shocked if McDonagh was traded. Not saying there isn't some merit to a trade just not sure if management would do it. - mdw7413
It’s not about him meriting a trade, I don’t believe he’s anywhere near as bad as he’s been. But with Skjei due to be paid I don’t see how we give McD anything near what he will want on a long term contract at 30. I think trading him this year and a team having control of him for 1.5 years as opposed to a rental for the playoffs would substantially increase the return. |

You misunderstood. I meant a McDonagh trade has some merit, like the reasons you posted and others have. I'm just not sure management would pull the trigger. If anything, they would wait till next year is my guess. |

I can't imagine the Rangers making a major trade with the Oilers that doesn't include Nugent-Hopkins |

But the Rangers need him and the Oilers probably need to move his salary out if they would have any (hypothetical) chance at re-signing McDonagh.
