Lou and Shanahan haven't made many mistakes but Marleau was one of them. Unfortunately, he's not going anywhere with that NMC, age and contract. I don't mind veterans on a team to show the young guys how to be professionals but a guy like Jagr costs 1 million dollars on a 1 year deal. That's the type of old guys they need at this particular stage, not guys who clog up the cap space with a bunch of pending RFAs.

Disney bought Fox. Netflix is going to lose all of the entire Disney and Fox properties to the new Disney streaming service. So the only major studios they can get movies from are Paramount and Sony.

Would rather Marleau for the next 2 years than JVR long term.

Marleau’s game is way more well rounded and JVR is soft as butter, and playing for a salary.

Team has room to sign the guys they need to keep, with Marleau here. They could probably squeeze in JVR, too, with the cap going up to 82... but the money is better spent on D.
