Boston seems the most likely. They're actually a pretty decent team assuming they can stay healthy.
- daeth

Tampa Bay belongs at the top, no doubt. The Leafs, Sens and Red Wings all overachieved to start the season and are all slipping a bit while the Bruins and the Habs underachieved and have been starting to come back up. But ultimately, it's going to be Tampa, Leafs or Bruins at 2 or 3 and the Habs or Sens at 4 or 5.

obviously not... but don't plan any parades this year either.

we are starting to be reminded this is still very early on in a work in progress.

I've been telling you silly (frank)ers this non stop for a year now

Well if JVR is a causality of Marleau, that's a mistake, especially if he walks for nothing. If they trade him for younger, cheaper players, then fine.

Bozak and Komarov can go (frank) themselves but Bozak will likely be held on to because they need his faceoff skills and refuse to put Marner and/or Nylander at center because Babcock is a hard ass.

I trust Lou with the cap but he's always flown close to the Sun with that one and if they don't keep him as GM, then what?

Marner and Nylander could get the Kadri / Rielly treatment in the form of 8 year 6.5 million dollar deals that you're glad you did after a year or two.

Marner at center?

I hope to all (frank) he doesn't

Leivo sucks.

Agreed, but not the biggest issue, a part time fourth liner is the least of the worries right now. Babcock needs to open the classroom and everyone on the team writes down on a piece of paper 100 times:

I WILL SHOOT THE (frank)ING PUCK!

Mark Hunter said it was the plan after a few years for him to be a center once he learned to win faceoffs and got stronger. Kadri did it, no reason Marner can't.

Hard to see Ottawa in the playoffs this year -not impossible, but highly unlikely at this point. If we go by 95 points gets you in, that means they need 68 points in their remaining 52 games, ignoring ties, that's a winning percentage of .654 the rest of the year. Even the Habs need 63 points in 50 games works out to about .630 winning percentage. Can happen - wouldn't bet on it. Seems more likely that 5 teams from the Metropolitan will make it this year, with Tampa, Leafs and Boston from the Atlantic.

Oh I didn't say they'd make the playoffs, just be 4th or 5th in the division.

Before learning faceoffs, it would be nice if he acquired the courage to shoot the puck at the goalie, instead of ragging it around the attacking zone and shooting a softie into the corner.

Maybe if he wasn't playing with pylons for most of the season, somebody could tap it into the open net after he draws all the attention and makes an amazing pass.

If Lou can snag a good Dman why wouldn't you keep JVR & Go for it? You don't get too many chances in this league & if you start thinking about surrendering a season to try & do better the next that's playing with fire & a recipe for disaster.

If Lou can't snag that Dman or injuries hit, sell him off to the highest bidder!

Bozak is useless

JVR is only a PP specialist imo

Marner needs new line mates!

Man some of you guys are acting like a couple losses and they’re done for. They haven’t been playing the best hockey but they’re adjusting to a new system. They aren’t getting blown out every night... the offence will come back and all will be well in Leafsland again.
