amazingly, Lindy Ruff gets off scot-free, nobody complains about him anywhere - jimbro83
I don’t think anyone needs to single out Ruff, we all feels the same about him and it’s been bad D for 3 years straight with 3 different guys handling the D
Band I think is the most over rated ever. The Doors - mdw7413
I like the Doors, unfortunately Morrison died when they were getting better L.A. Woman and Riders on the Storm are two of their best and they had just come out right before he died

Shatty has been fine if you think that is the issue on defense, I don't know what to say - mdw7413
Shatty is still a great signing, he wasn't a shut down guy, he's an elite offensive defenseman and he's proven that, with that said turnovers like the first goal last night don't fall under defensive deficiencies, he's not supposed to turn the puck over like he has at times but how can we single him out when we're the #! team in the league at turnovers? Comes down to the coaches plan of moving the puck quickly even if the lane is closed, even if the neutral zone is shut down like teams have figured out against us

Well thats just it. Shatty would be the last one I would complain about, right behind Skjei. 4 other defenseman on that list that are way more of a problem. Smith being the worst
I was never a big fan of Yes, Emerson Lake a Palmer, those kids of bands
never really liked Rush much either, although I acknowledge how good they are - jimbro83
Possibly the 3 worst looking dudes to ever get endless wussy thrust upon them! Like a band of Hobbits!
That 70s/80s prog rock was often hard to get into, but as a Canadian I take offense to your dislike of Rush! At least you have the decency to acknowledge their talent! How can 3 guys make such full sounds???

I'm kind of with Jimbo. Never cared for rush but musically, talented as (frank)

Wish my guidance counselor would have told me the benefits of being in a band.

They have lots of stuff I can pass over, but love, love, love their classics. One of my first concerts ever. My very 1st was Billy Joel. Destined to be a Rangers fan from 15 years old!!!
The theme Jan of my articles written elsewhere have centered one too many times this season, (especially during their start in winning only 3 of their first 13 games), on what I mentioned after this 3-2 latest loss on your prior blog last night, which you also hit on here. It seems they begin many games with absolutely NO GAME PLAN employed in site, and are only "strolling along", instead of skating hard with determination, to use "ALL THAT SPEED" which A.V. only wanted & needed here to play his type of up tempo speed game. But why? Is it due to the players, or the coaching staff, or both???
Their "standing around" at times, or not being ready to start a period, as seen on Zach Smith's difference making goal just 8 seconds into the 3rd, is of the best proof. I would bet that had he not scored that 3rd Ottawa goal, Kreider wouldn't have pressed his way that hard along the right boards with the puck only 4+ minutes later to make that pass to Buch for their 2nd and final goal, and would have instead just tried to dump the puck into Ottawa's zone. They then likely would have only pressed hard to tie the score at 2-2 after the midway point of the 3rd or even later.
If the players are only at fault, then Jeff Gorton is also very responsible. If it's due to the players being held back from utilizing their strengths, starting with their speed up front, then the coaching staff is at fault, which is also making their d'men look lost out there. That also includes McDonagh, who I have said most recently on yesterday's blog (like Karlsson), & believe is still feeling effects skating wise & more, from his severe foot injury he had suffered a few seasons ago.
If the problem is both sources, then Gorton has a much bigger decision to make regarding his own plan to possibly be altered somewhat or greater.

What really pissed me off besides the Hayes breakaway was that they pulled Lundqvist with about 1:20 to play, and didn't even come close to ATTEMPTING a shot. No set up, no zone time, nothing. No urgency to get to pucks at all. It looked like it could have been 5 minutes into the game they way they were playing. That's why, to me anyway, it just looks like they're going through the motions. And I don't know how you fix that.
