Islanders have scored 8 more goals than the Rangers in the same amount of games. They overcome their average goaltending. Getting great play out of Tavares and Barzal helps. - tomburton99
And the Isles have given up 14 more goals than the Rangers, so we are plus 6 over the Isles |

You’re 100% correct and they should continue on this path rather than stop and think problem solved - KreiderBomb
I think it's easier said than done. Teams just simply don't trade good defenseman, they're too much of an important piece to move them frequently.
If the Rangers are going to seriously consider trading for a youngish impact-defenseman the conversation starts with Andersson or Chytil and a 1st, and probably more. Same for the Isles. We need competent defensemen too. |

I've read a few reports saying Deangelo has looked AWFUL in Hartford - 21peter
Which backs my comment about him being done in NY, he won't get another shot if he can't play in the minors |

How money have they saved and the allowed the Rangers to go the other way? - tomburton99
Well isn't the job of the goalie to stop pucks and the offense to score? |

Nah. I think we need defenceman and another center. Being 7th in the league in offense is respectable. |

You're sure that's what he's asking? I mean, Dundee's comments are sometimes easier to understand... |

I'm not a big corsi guy but we are one of the worst shot suppressing teams in the league, there's no puck possession, I'm not on board with AV's philosophy, maybe some of these guys would be better aside from Nash who looks like he has lost all of his finish, great defensive forward but that's not why we traded for him, I'm 100% done with a few players and coaches, he's #2 on the list after AV |

What really worries me is this teams lack of "grit" or "jam" as the players like to call it. Last year, the Rangers were a great team on the road. This year, not so good. The schedule now will balance out as we play a slew of games away from MSG. Unless we turn this around quickly, we are not going to have enough points to make the playoffs.
I am one to be patient, however, we are rapidly approaching the point where we need to import players that other teams will be miserable playing against. IDK if you can call that "blowing it up" but this team is waaaay too soft and easy to play against, and that will never go deep into the spring... |

Yeah, I'm not so sure.
I hope I don't reach your level of pessimism. You and Tom seem to expect absolute perfection. Any hint of a mistake and it's "BLOW IT UP!!! THEY SUCK!!!"
And I'm not sitting here saying I don't see problems with our team. I can call them out for poor play, coaching or effort. All of which have been on display this season. But, there is not one team in the league that doesn't have deficiencies. The trick is playing to your strengths and patching holes in order to win games and continue toward the goal as best you can.
There is work to be done here, for sure. But, you don't start walking in the opposite direction from your destination just because the road starts to turn uphill. |

I think a good portion of that is defense. Really need another quality defenseman. Agree with Norway. Smith has been awful |
