There's been an update on the Rumour Chart! I can't wait for Lefty to get here with some insider knowledge. Apparently, rumour # 13 has been updated.

Poll question time:

If Ottawa actually decides to sell up some assets: Karlsson, Hoffman, etc.
Would anyone here want Vancouver to make an offer?

For me, with Karlson's injuries and age...i'd be leaning towards no.
Despite the fact that we obviously have always wanted a player of his ilk.

took a penalty in both games, last game was kinda a 50/50 call, but that probably didn't help his cause.

hard to say. Hoffman would be nice to get, but the futures we would have to give up are high. Would Goldy/Hutton get it done? what would we add?

I wouldn't give up the assets required to get these guys as we are just now starting to build up a prospect pool that has some talent. However, if you can get a guy like Karlsson or Tavares in free agency, I'd be fine with that. I doubt either of them will choose Vancouver though.

Either way.
The Burrows trade/signing is looking worse and worse for Ottawa.
How come their GM hasn't been shown the door yet?

I wouldn't trade any of our young assets but if they go to free agency then I would be in.

Cause their owner is to cheap to pay out the contract.

What’s a rumor chart? Is it statistics based, with different sized and coloured bubbles on an x-y plane?

Only 'Season Ticket' holders know. It's kind of like a fraternity I think.
If Lefty has had a fresh from the teat goat's milk latte then he might feel generous and give us a glimpse into the other world of hockey insiders.

I realize Stone is worth more than Gudbranson, but that could be the base.

Besides Karlsson, he's the most popular player in Ottawa.

hoffman and a 2nd for sutter has dorion written all over it.

he'd proabably love to have gudbranson too...but they need to save money on a deal.

i want to say never to stone, but ottawa is primed to do some stupid things.

He is also one of my favourites and would love to have him, depending on cost of course.
Would add Baertschi to get him.

Edit; I am more than happy to stay the course. Draft and develop.

i liked that quote about not wanting a 20g scorer that you lose with.
I suspect that many posters on here would be happy with the opposite and like to see Goldobin score 20 in the short term.

Green gets it.

Karlsson is tempting as we would have the cap space next year and we have never had that type of Norris guy in the lineup. But man we would have to give up our next 5 years of prospects to get him...don't think it's worth the risk but wow would it be nice to have a guy like that on the club.

they won't let karlsson go for cheap. too soon for you guys to make that move imo.

duchene, hoffman and maybe stone might be traded to save money. those could be some weird trades.

Turris essentially told the Van media today that the Sens management wanted to re-sign him but Melnyk didn't want to so they had to trade him. That ownership situation is insane

Picking up where he left off this season with the Kings, from what I've seen checking stats sub 10 minutes TOI and a penalty. I believe in him, but if he can't seize this opportunity when they're down centers, I'm not sure he'll be seeing another one (which is unfair! he had a good first year last year and for whatever reason was thrown aside this year)
