Well I guess he's a liar.
"We played well enough to win."
Bahwahwahwah

These (frank)ing idiots are patting each other on the back right now and thinking they're playing well.

Why do I get the sense Doug just tells the players just to play hard and that's it? There really seems to be no real difference in system from Cappy's.

It's still early, but so far Doug like Cappy does not seem to have the X's and O's knowledge or the ability to teach it.
- ses111

I think that's unfair. I didn't want Doug to be the coach this year, but he's still a rookie coach. He's also done a hell of a lot better than Crappy. Hopefully he'll adjust.

Record is better Jimmy, but still a lot of the same problems. I agree it's early.

I agree bit with that said our coach thinking they played a good game tonight is a real problem. Hopefully he doesn't really believe that.
- Cptmjl

That's impossible to say. He has called them out in the post games in the past. Who knows what's being said behind closed doors.

Agree Jimmy, I think tonight he blew the sunshine up his teams ass looking towards tomorrow, saying hey we could have won let’s go out and play and get the win tomorrow and keeping the mood positive.

Typically he called out the team when needed. He may have thought they played well but then I didn’t see the positives he saw. They were outplayed in my opinion and the Stars only played 2 periods.

I missed the beginning of his post game, but from what I heard Weight was just saying that the Isles generated a lot of scoring chances, too, but Dallas did a better job burying theirs. I took that as partly a jab at the Isles' shooters, but also a subtle jab at Halak.

Meh, they were beaten to the puck and lost most of the puck battles imho. If you lose the battles there’s no way you win the war/game imho.

That they did. Teams know that the way you slow down a fast team like the Isles is to play them physical and jam up the neutral zone. Despite that, there were stretches where the Isles generated some scoring chances, but couldn't bury them. Nevertheless, I agree that overall, Dallas won most of the puck battles.

I don't think what Weight said is true. I think the Stars had the better play most of the game.

Hopefully they will bounce back tomorrow!

Tonight should be a defining game for this team. Let's see how they handle a little adversity. I for one am not overly enthusiastic about tonight's game

Same here. BJ's seem to just outplay the Isles every time.

Agreed, out played being the key unacceptable description. Hoping to be surprised but not holding my breath. This team seems to be down trending. Uninspired play from most of the team especially the players this team needs to perform. We seem to get 2 or 3 mins a game of decent play from Tavares usually in the last 5 mins of a game that we lost in the 2nd period.

This seems to be the case. However, the team did play well against the caps. They need to give a 60 minute effort each game. Until they start doing that, they will continue dropping games like last night. Their first period effort was garbage and Halak needs to be better than those first two allowed.

Yep. They're inconsistent right now. Not a good time for inconsistency in this division. The effort is just not there IMO which for me is completely unacceptable. They look disinterested and if they keep this up they'll be chasing their tails again in March and may miss the playoffs yet again.

I think the Isles will get in. Despite the frustrations last night (and probably tonight) they are still a decent team.

The rags still have 30 road games on the schedule and they're road record is pretty poor so far. I expect them will fade a bit. That should help. There is space between 9th and 10th.

I really don't even think that they played that poorly last night. They didn't play nearly as well as they are capable of, but if a few of those posts were goals and Halak didn't give up a pair of softies (or that first goal didn't take a funky bounce) that is an entirely different game.

Them and CBJ will both be coming off bad losses, so this figures to be an interesting one tonight.
