I'm not dying for Staal, but I think he'd keep up just fine. If cement-foot guys like Lee and Ladd can keep up...I'm confident that Eric Staal can manage. The extra year on his deal probably precludes him from being a fit here, along with the fact that I'd be willing to be a decent amount that the Islanders are on his 10-team no-trade list.

Again it never fails that isles can be world beaters one game and then stink it up the next game.
