Great, Buffalo Druggies ... founded July 2018 after the Buffalo Sabres folded in their last NHL season of 2017 - 2018.

I respect that, being a season ticket holder the last several (6?) years has got to be tough.

I agree with the excitement when Jack has the puck, it feels like there is a solid opportunity at any point...it does remind me a lot of when Perrault had the puck!

I really want his focus to be on winning the puck back when the opponent has it ... cause, when he gets it with his speed on the transition who the hell can keep up with him ... no one, period.

We have to adjust our expectations with Sam. I am severely disappointed in what they got there as well. It sucks, but to borrow a phrase from the Krout ... there is a baby in the bath water in him...need to make some lemonade from them lemons.

If they decide on keeping him, they should sit his ass in the press box for a couple games ala Gus.

- IonSabres

Last year's whole game benching was supposed to be wake up.
I wouldn't mind seeing him sit a game or 2.

Good move for housley to sit girgs. Hope he responds in a positive way

If the game keeps getting faster, he's donzo.

His quickness is worse than Vanek's, with half the skill.

- sbroads24

Yeah, the speed in sports never slows down , players just get faster. I'll take the under 5 years, including this year.

No big deal if you sit and the team still loses. Maybe more need to sit ?

Just landed in Vancouver (for work) and rode the train from the airport to the downtown area. Coincidentally, I ran into John Van Boxmeer. I noticed his Sabres travelling bag with the name "Van Boxmeer" on it. I think he was startled when I said "hey John, how are you doing"? As most on here would know, Van Boxmeer is the Sabres west coast pro-scout. He lives in L.A. and is responsible for all pro scouting from Denver westwards.

Anyway, I walked and chatted with him for 15 minutes. Below are some of the key takeaways

- He is in Vancouver scouting the Canucks/Preds tonight.
- he just spent 4 days in San Jose scouting the Sharks. Prior to that, he was in Anaheim for a few days. He is off to Edmonton tomorrow to scout the Oilers/Preds game.
- I asked him about when they were going to trade Kane. He just laughed but he said there definitely is a lot of interest in him.
- I asked him what's going on with Reinhart. He said two things - "skating and heart".
- He thinks the last couple of games they might have turned the corner a bit. He insinuated (didn't say names) that some of the young guys on the team might feel a wee bit entitled. He said particularly the non elite guys who are playing in the NHL have to bring it absolutely every shift.
- we talked about Jack's unorthodox stride. He said because his stride is so long, it can be very deceptive.
- I asked him what Jason Botterill was like. He said very smart and very organized. He said there is a "night and day difference" between Botterill and the previous GM. I'll take that as a positive towards Botts and a negative towards Murray.

He was a really nice guy. We are staying in the same hotel so we might meet up for a beer after the game in the hotel bar. However, if he reads this board, he might take a pass.

My first "insider" contribution. Nothing like Homie or 89' but at least it wasn't the hot dog vendor.

Kind of longish, but pretty interesting. I don't remember how I stumbled to this. I think someone may have even posted it here before.

tl;dr he uses speed skating techniques, that's why he's so fast and it looks effortless.

Don’t say that poop in here, unless you like Tar and Feathers, lol.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Post anytime you want...but F U C K the Laughs

- IonSabres

Absolutely. I'm not saying the Laughs are a team that anyone should follow.Far from it. But from my experience, you have to allocate the money correctly. You don't want Kessel and Phaneuf, or Eichel and Risto representing the majority of you salary cap right?

was posted in the past . very few skaters use that technique . Very few learn it and are able to use it . Does seem effortless .

I didnt realize he only played 4 games this year. Fair enough, I just do not see the:

This is my nhl spot, take it from me.

It's more like,

Well: rochester is a nice place to play, its near buffalo. I'm still making 600,000 this year to play a game I love.

- Boss34

Bailey makes $70K in Rochester, not $650K up to $832.5K which is his NHL salary $650K base with up to $182,500 in bonuses. That's a lot of money for a 22 year old, but at the same time it's not at all if he sustains a career ending injury.

I would hate to be a Coach in professional sports with the younger generation.
Of corse, I’m sure my coaches said the same when I was young.

Taking time on ice away is virtually the only thing they understand.
Sam joked away last years on bench game.

Sometimes she does.

If I have a meeting with the executive team where I work, or a customer visit, or an interview...basically anything that dressing up is part of the style...I have almost no say in what I wear.

Typically she shuffles the closet as she knows what section I typically pick from and never leave so she does it stealthily. Other times she is more direct and I see it on the bed after I get out of the shower.

When I manage people and they ask, I'm like "Yes, this is the only place I make decisions". She defers to me on a lot, but everything inside the walls of our house she feels personally responsible for.

But I BETTER bring home the money and handle anything outside the house.

That's my role.

I tell my wife I'm scared of her laundry.

It's WAY too complicated.

If I do any laundry it's my own, it's done in one load, and it's on cold.

Done.

Kessel had 66 points in 152 games his first two years at 19 and 20.

Eichel had 113 points in 142 games at the same age.

They aren't fair comparisons. Eichel will be better

Risto and Phaneuf are pretty comparable
