You can never have enough offensively challenged forwards on the decline. If Dale Weise had a clone in the league.. I would sign him right now. 4 years. - Doc_Sarcasm
Do you really feel the need to explain this to Leafs fans? |

I still chuckle at the time when Ted Lindsay punched Pierre Pilote in the face at an old timers game over something which happened 20 years earlier. 😂 |

my current best guess:
leafs will hold off signing jvr on the 1% chance tavares makes it to market.
so, 99% chance leafs make a reasonable contract offer to jvr at some point. |

Which reminds me... I saw surprisingly few Leafs jerseys at the game last night, considering how many Oilers jerseys and Blackhawks jerseys I saw when I went to see those two teams play the Flyers earlier in the season. However, one guy was rockin' a Wendel Clark jersey, and I saw a Gilmour jersey as well. |

I still have my Gilmour.
For guys my age, 92-93 was all that and a bag of chips. After having cheered for so many terrible teams over the years, that year was so franking special. In a weird sort of way, I don't think a Stanley Cup team would be as special to me as that team was.
I'm sure I'll buy a few more jerseys over the course of my life, but I won't get another name on the back.
But I feel like I can always show up to a Leafs game - from now until eternity - wearing my Gilmour. |

3 of the best Leafs ever. - Scabeh
It's pretty easy to put together an all-star Leafs team - filled with guys who had terrific careers elsewhere, but made completely insignificant contributions to the Maple Leafs.
Lindros, Nolan, Francis, Housley, Leetch, Murphy, Parent, Barrasso, Ken Linseman, J.P. Parise...
Frank, the list goes on and on. |

They should offer them $10mil per for BOTH. Then tell them they get the percentage of their contribution to their combined points. So if they combine for 100 pts and Marner scores 60 of them, he gets 6mil.
Where do I pick up my GM cheque? |

Maybe the Leafs should just apply the rule to the entire cap amount.
Everyone gets their points contribution as a percentage of the total!
Ok now I'm too lazy to calculate the points to make a joke about how cheap Martin would've been.
$950k for Martin!
$7.5mil for Matthews!

If they had the cap space to offer Stamkos a contract they definitely have the space for Taveras. |
