Also:Karlsson for Lucic, Draistaitl, RNH one of Klefbom/Nurse/Larsson and a first
(I agree with Sens fan forgetteroorWORSE who said “That's a decent offer. I'd want Nurse.”)

That is laughable, but when Chiarelli is involved, nothing is impossible!

Might want to check who has the only goal today..... give you a hint: It's a D-man; and it's not Karlsson - AlfieisKing
Ceci scored on the 2nd worst team in the league in the Sabres and the Sens still lose. Wow you are right he really is a legit talent and key
Waiver claimed guys in Nemeth and Barberio are both out producing Ceci. Congrats on having a Dmen with less offensive ability than waiver wire pick ups |

Duchene trade is not even 20 games in
Hall, Eberle, Barzal --> there's enough talent the oilers could of had, not to mention the horrendous drafting. It sucks because their my 2nd favorite team but wtf is chia thinking |

I do hope he gets traded, the sens owe it to the world to let him play for a contender while he still makes a reasonable amount of money. Karlson out performed his current contract by a grotesque amount and will be over payed for it. This will be someone's mistake as his game is built around speed and lower body injuries just don't go away. Paying for past performance is just silly, hawks and now the Habs are perfect examples. Don't get me wrong, karlsson is amazing at what he does but his style of play is more susceptible to decline then players with other nich traits that can carry them through the rigours of a brutal NHL career. I know the caps going up but I think paying any player 10+ mil a season is a mistake. The oilers and sabres are gonna find out that a 10mil + stud is not a recipe for success. If Conner and jack had better teammates that would be payed appropriately there wouldn't be a problem, instead there stuck with the responsibility of living up to a huge contract while lesser payed players find there own way of levelling the playing field by pulverizing the kids. Mcdavid will never live up to his contract, most exciting player in the game but he is a knee injury away from being the most expensive anchor of all time. |

I know the Isles won't pull the trigger but Karlsson is the type of player that propels the Isles into a legit contender at least for a run to ECF.
First you have to look at salary. Isles need to save money for JT but getting a Karlsson will only give more reasons for him to stay.
Karlsson makes 6.5M The Isles only have approximately 3.2M in cap space so someone with contract needs to go back.
If I am Islanders I consider sending 1 and possibly both 1st round draft choices (1 obtained in Hamonic trade) If Ottawa is up to that I would add Calvin de Haan who is a UFA at end of season. Ottawa would get cap space and 2 first round draft choices and a player that they could flip if needed.
If they didn't want 2 picks I would offer 1 first, Beauvillier (young promising forward from Ottawa area) and then someone such as defenseman Adam Pelech who is signed until 20-21 at 1.6M a season. |

We know how these movies end:
1) Player stays and life remains boring
2) UFA signs with the NYR leaving 1/3 of people saying "he sucks anyway and isn't worth it", 1/3 "Rangers buy every UFA it isn't fair", and the last group "omg NYR finally got the PP quarterback they need. It's the final piece...only for it not to be the final piece" |
