Man, Kempny is deeper in the doghouse than I think anyone might have ever been. Why don't they just waive him?

@BrianSandalow

Pokka up, Franson to IR. #Blackhawks

ETA: but this is a good point

@MarkLazerus

With Franson still hurting and Jan Rutta uncertain after getting knocked out of last night's game, makes sense to bring up a right-handed shot like Pokka.

I disagree with one thing Rosenbloom said, the Blackhawks have always played down to their opposition's level. Why should be shocked that they looked bad against "bad" teams?

A good start. Now we only need to replace 99 more in the senate and 435 in the house.

Next 6 games will tell us how good Buffalo Arizona & Florida are as well as how good the Hawks are.

On another note
Glad to see Ottawa’s trap isn’t working.
Boucher may be out before the Ball Drops on New Years.

They're not. How good is Buffalo? And Arizona? Probably the worst two teams in the NHL.

Looking forward to it. In Rockford it seemed he had a clue despite his foot speed. Big step up to the show.
Also looking forward to Savvy ripping on him, so it's a win win for me no matter what Pokka does.

Wow, if Pokka starts a game before Kempny... Q must really have given up on him. I know it's his off-side, but man.

Does Q know that Pokka has a nice shot for pp..He gets it on net. He has been used on pp over the years. D Keith should be jealous. Ho ho ho.

Still can't believe we traded Leddy(a #1 caliber D) for an AHLer....

has 2 always been this bad getting shots on the net on the PP? This year is brutal. Shoot, hit wall, net or shins of defender. Rarely on goal.

Again, at the time, Pokka was a great prospect. Lots of people liked that trade, not just the Hawks. He just didn't develop quickly enough.

They should be regularly and handily destroying "bad" teams, and NOT playing down to their level. Which they do - all the time.

If Leddy is your #1 defenceman, it's safe to say your team doesn't have a #1 defenceman and/or that team will never win a cup

Have to disagree...Pokka was part of the leftovers Garth snow handed Stan after he waited all summer to move Leddy when he should have moved him at the draft. You know like he bungled moving Sharp at the draft the next year...

meanwhile Hawks need center depth and Danault and Kruger both gone yet Panik gets 2.8 per...yikes Scooby.

An Interesting and somewhat eye-opening stat from last nights post game show:

In games when both Kane and Toews score goals the Hawks are 71-6-4 in the regular season and 6-0 in the playoffs.

Interested to see what Pokka can do ,was a well respected prospect when they got him .And he has been seasoned well in the A ,that is the way it should be done for defenseman . GO HAWKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Problem it seems is that Keith never takes anything but that little slapper of his. The are numerous times when he has openings and time to shoot, but by the time he winds up it's too late. He also tends to catch and shoot as opposed to one timing passes. Someone should tell him it's ok to throw the occasional wrist shot or snap shot on net, or if he is going to take his time, accuracy may be better than velocity.

who cares? Trade em' both, start the rebuild. Maybe if salary is retained we can reaquire Leddy. Might have to add a sweetener to 88 and 19 though

Bad teams don’t get destroyed that often, even by good teams.

If I’ve counted correctly;

Buffalo - only 8 out of 23 losses have been by more than 2 goals; 6 losses in OT.

Arizona - only 7 out of 26 losses have been by more than 2 goals; 5 losses in OT.
