poope! I forgot lol. But, they're new jersey...that could always change.
That said, never trade with uncle Ray. That's one place he'll beat almost every GM. - cranktheradio
Look at their roster. Its actually really good, especially considering Palmieri and Johansson are out. How Shero managed to swing those trades for Hall, Johansson, and Vatanen I will never know. Their rebuild is pretty much over. Now they just have to wait a bit for the young team to jell. |

I'm at work, how is their cap space? I could see Shero grabbing Karlsson. |

They're projected to have like 21 mil in space with no one super important to reup but several spots to fill out. They're golden. |

If Ottawa is looking to make moves Brassard or Pageau would look great as the Pens 3rd line center. |

Nah.... The only time he actually screwed up was trading for Iginla (no fit) and Crankshaft. Otherwise, I can't really recall him ever losing a trade. |

It is really good. It's still New Jersey though so I'm just hoping. |

Any takers trying to get Carlson out of the Caps - UfA at seasons end. - Aussiepenguin
That would be a tremendous coup if they could. I don't see them being able to do anything until he hits free agency though. |

I don't think Iggy was a bad fit. I think he was misused by the coach. Bylsma constantly tried playing him on his opposite wing. I remember Neal saying in an interview he had to swap sides with him on the ice a lot because Iggy would naturally shift to his normal position. |

True. But, correct me if I'm wrong, he did draft Rust, Wilson, Kuhnhakel pick up Doumo, bring in Neal (Hornquist), Niskanen, Kunitz, Sutter (Bonino) and give us a chance at the cup every year. He may have given up a lot of picks, but he gave us years of fun hockey. |

Can you name the draft misses as well? I think he's doing a great job for the Devils, but can he get to that Cup win? & if he's can, what does he do next? I doubt we win any more cups with Shero after 09. JR steps in & goes 2 from 3, which I don't quite know what to say about other than it seems (frank)ing unreal.
A few of the above players probably wouldn't have seen NHL ice with Shero in charge in my opinion.

Shero was a master trader. And I'm not sure if Shero bad at drafting or if the Pens organization is just weak in developing players. I think that is why they draft out of the NCAA so heavily, because most big schools have great development & S&C programs for kids to get better in.
He made a great move this year in drafting Hischier instead of Patrick. Will be interesting to see what he does with that cap space this offseason. The team might regress from here but you can't argue that he has had a massive immediate impact on that team. |

That was precisely why I was clamoring for the Pens to claim Kassian a couple seasons ago. Could have had a guy that can play some hockey AND throw... and still would have had Kostin and Sundquist on the roster. Oh well. Glad to see Duby get what he deserves, his taking cheap shots at star players extends far beyond Crosby. |

I stopped reading as soon as “my nhl” popped up. Still a wiener job like every other analytics blogger. It’s not your nhl never will be. It will never even half be America’s game. God bless old Canadian’s and may they keep hockey as authentic as possible. |

Completely useless attempt to alter the rule also. Essentially suggesting the point of offside moves 12 inches toward center ice. It doesn't change that these exact offside plays will still occur and will look the exact same in replay as this current review did. Offside doesn't need to be changed. How it is reviewed does. Simply put if a team feels there is an offside on the play it needs to be challenged in real time at the exact moment it happens. Have a light or flag or something on the bench to alert the official and the play stops dead before a goal is scored. If it is not offside...penalty. If it is offside then carry on with the usual puck drop at the blue line. |

Why stop the play dead? That seems backwards as (frank).
