Good morning Flyers Buzzards. I'm taking my 8 year old son to his first game tonight. Looks like gates open at 5:30. We want to be there in time for warmups. Any idea what time that is?
- jra173

I feel like I was surprised when I went and it was late, like 6:30, but no earlier than 6:20. Enjoy!

I'm glad the boys are back to regular starting times this week. Had a few hazy mornings last

Get there at 615 and you'll be fine.

Also, no matter where your seats are, just go into a first level entrance by the end where the Flyers warm up and walk down towards the ice. Just act like you know what you're doing and don't ask security if you can go down to watch. Then you can sit in the first few rows (obviously you'll have to move if the people with those seats show up, but you just find the next unoccupied seat). That way he can see them up close during warm-ups.

Hope you guys have fun!

Flyers lose tonight and Schenn, #1 Star, is talked about tomorrow to no end. Book it.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing this line tonight.

TK should see more ice time for starters and although Leier and Laughton don't dazzle people this line will flat out have speed to it. Watch out for odd man rushes.

Not old enough to have watched Zarley Zalapski, but that is an awesome name and 49 is way too young to die

Don't worry, they'll switch out Konecny for Weise in the 3rd so they can roll 3 lines.

Nope. I'm carrying a four game personal attendance winning streak into tonight's game. That streak continues

Matthews isnt playing tonight.

Leafs win streak without Matthews ends tonight.

Flyers win.

Flyers don't do too well after a lengthy time off correct? Be interesting to see how the first 5-10 minutes of the game go.

Sorry you won't get to watch Matthews, but you two should be thoroughly entertained by the one they call "Dutch Gretzky ".

The Dutch Gretzky... why does that sound like it should be some sort of weird sex act?

He was a good defenseman, who put up points for the late 80's Pens teams and did pretty well for Hartford.

He wasn't with the Flyers long. He was on the team in the late 90's.

I could see this line clicking very well. Hopefully we get Calgary Laughton

Simmonds is a Leafs killer - he always has his best games against us (especially in Toronto).

It's a wise move by your coach.

I’m not fully on board with potentially bringing JVR back via FA, but why were so many people against it in the last thread? Regardless if we trade Simmonds or not, our top 6 would be:

Giroux-Couts-Simmonds
JVR-Patrick-Jake
Or
Giroux-Couts-Jake
JVR-Patrick-TK

- arichardson22

Want no part in a Flyers JVR FA signing. The kid looked like a legitimate NHL superstar in the 2011 playoffs when the Flyers got swept by the Bruins. He was never able to get his skating and puck-handling together enough.

JVR is a great player - but he won't be worth what some team gives him.

He's a guy who is all but guaranteed to be offered a contract that he can't possibly live up to.

Somebody will give him in the neighbourhood of $7 milly X 7 years.

And that someone will end up regretting it.

Still not a fan of Simmonds on that top line. Wouldn't mind seeing Konecny on the tope line( he did play well with Couturier last season), Simmonds on the patrick line and Weise on the 4th line.
