I’m not fully on board with potentially bringing JVR back via FA, but why were so many people against it in the last thread? Regardless if we trade Simmonds or not, our top 6 would be:

I was never really a big fan of his when he was here the first time. Still not all that impressed with him and he'll probably want some kind of ridiculous FA contract. So no thanks.

In all fairness to Gudas, he's not the only guy to get one shot by Bieksa.

I can’t say I’ve watched him a ton since joining the Leafs but I know he’s been pretty consistent for them points / goals wise over the years. I don’t want to chase him for the hell of it, but if we do decide to move on from a Simmonds, he’d Be a solid replacement to consider, especially if it’s through free agency and doesn’t require trading assets.

This is what I don't want to happen. And in my original post, he was the one I had in mind as being the only one who WOULD do something.

I don't want Laughton doing anything, his head is an eggshell. Weise would be a good choice but comon really?

Hopefully Gudas or Hagg catches him clean with his head down. That is about the most I could hope for. I don't want Ghost getting off his game trying to do something stupid either.

Simmonds is a Leafs killer - he always has his best games against us (especially in Toronto).

Think of the Kadri line as the checking line - Babcock will try to get him to match up against your 1st line.
