I've been told Green is way better that Willie, though the results may be similar
- WhiteLie

Solid Whitey, but you have been told wrong, it’s actually the lack of talented players not the coaching...3 years running and still going on.

Yeah, I guess I didn't understand what you were alluding to when you say fake hype.

Canucks lack quality depth, they have enough guys who can fill in on the 4th line and bottom pairing, but they need more quality. This team needs more draft picks, it's not a good idea to rely on 75% of your prospects to pan out, if they do then great but the smart teams are prepared for a few prospects to bust.

- Nucker101

Sure. Seems to be the plan. They will add prospects like Dahlen etc. if they can as picks are as you say less known to pan out. Though would like to see a vet asset moved for picks too.

I get the mixed messages of outliers like LE had on rebuild or even Sutter and Guddy. Part of the issue of squeezing out competitiveness while Sedins are under contract.

What'e wrong is the notion that the coaching didn't made the lack of talent worse... not only in results but mostly in development of players and watching the games.

Anyone know when the date is we have to have Lind signed, so we can get him in Utica next season.

Didn't watch the game, the stats show 26 to 24 in shots, marky lets in a softie early and to many penalties and the pk sucked does that sum it up.

It seems if you ask most in here, you think the score was about 15-1. Van carried play for periods at a time and just like the last couple of games. Had good scoring chances and didn't convert. Marky let's in a softie, take a few penalties. Other team scores and takes the wind out of the sails.

Team lacks confidence to come back after they get down.

After 31 games - the #Canucks are just slightly ahead with their point pace (0.516% & 32 PTS)) compared to 2016-17 (0.451% & 28 PTS)) and 2015-16 (0.484% & 30 PTS)

.516 85 pts.
.451 74 pts
.484 79 pts

Just for reference if Van had 35 points right now. 3 more then they have.

Seems TG is trying to spark that working on the D set up first. He had different pairings out and kept shots down. Maybe he's following stats as the metrics on this breakdown showed exact same pairings as optimal before the game.

https://canucksarmy.com/2...ks-optimal-defence-pairs/

But as you point out it's hard to sustain confidence or get results when goaltending is sub par, PK gets lit early and scoring doesn't show up. He's tried different forward lines as well but has less data to back up what works so more of an experiment of trial and error.

MDZ-Tanev
Edler-Pouliot
Hutton Stecher.

Trade either Gudbranson or find a miracle and trade Edler.

To me, they looked really uncomfortable together. Really didnt see any chemistry between them and had a shaky presence on the ice. I had hopes the two could be a steady bottom pairing, but it looks like both still need veteran help

Todd Bertuzzi on Boeser on Sportsnet 650 Morning Show : "he has one heck of a frickin release and he has a set of nuggets on him that he goes into the areas where you needs to go to score." #Canucks

Now that's some Bertuzzi love right there

I think expectations are oddly strange for these two. They are 3rd pairing D. 88 NHL games for Stecher and 177 for Hutton. That's nothing in terms of NHL D.

They weren't on the ice for any 5v5 goals. (Except for Markys freebie) Neither took a penalty. I haven't checked the corsi but i'm guessing they were probably about even.

The Jet's are one of the best teams in the league.

I know they are young and it seems most love to expect every young player to be a game changer.

I dont think they played bad, I just thought they looked really out of sync. Two young guys, who have typically been covered by veterans up to this point in their career, looked to have a hard time figuring out how they were going to play together.

Bobbling pucks, awkward/hesitant looking rushes, and a few moments of panic just made me wonder why they are together. They have looked much better when paired with one of Edler, Tanev and MDZ
