i actually said out loud mid-game, "did the capitals play last night, or do they just suck?"

looks like they just suck

- batteryjackson

i just think when Isles bring it from beginning of game they are better than most teams. Clearly you see it on in losses and wins.
Most time we come out sleeping its a loss or OT point at best.

pretty awesome bellow doing well, he plays with and edge too. Its been along time since isle had a top 2 line winger that plays with an edge (gritty)
- Spartiarti

I'm thinking he's more likely to be a middle-6 winger and not so much a top-6 winger. Which is cool too. Here's to hoping I'm underestimating the kid. I still think he is trade-bait though.

Really starting to get frustrated with Ho-Sang and the way he plays. Still trying to do too much every shift out there

Everyone knew this was the book on him. He's 41 games into his career and he's marginally better than a point-every-other-game player. He has a lot of developing to do, but I'm not sure dumping him in BPT is the answer.

I'm not dying to see Shane Prince or Alan Quine as everyday players. If Snow wants to go out and buy a "true" third line winger to play with Nelson/Beauvillier I'm cool with that. Maybe Vrbata from FLA or, wait for it.......Vanek from VAN. Lower-end guys that could fill that spot: Nolan (BUF), Stempniak (CAR), and my personal favorite...Letestu (EDM). Letestu is a monster on the PP, he would be a massive pickup just to play with the 2nd unit.

All the guys I listed here are on teams that are highly unlikely to make the playoffs, are on expiring contracts, and have no NTC/NMC's.

Don't see any of that happening though.

I never said to dump him or that he can't change his style. I'm just saying right now he is turning the puck over way too much while trying to do too much every time he touches the puck. Last night was a perfect example. Up a goal in the 3rd you have to get the puck in deep every time he tried some nifty little move that got him nowhere and either turned the puck over or got bailed out by one his teammates. Sometimes less is more and until he learns that don't be surprised if he starts sitting again

Yeah that wasn't necessarily directed at you, but there has been a lot of talk about sending him to BPT, which I totally get. I just don't think that Prince/Quine will be better, so I'd rather let him learn here through playing.

If Snow wants to pick someone up that would be a better fit for now and a good 13th forward if Josh plays his way back in, that's a different story.

Agreed...Also staying on the ice for extended shifts which can/will lead to the puck going into our net.

With his speed/skating I would really just like to see him play a little more north/south. I think his game would benefit from a little more simplicity.

Ho Sang can do well if he plays a smart simple game with his talent. Nelson, Beau, and Ho Sang should be an effective 3rd line without having the pressure of carrying the offense.

We are all raving about Barzal because his basic game which he has worked at for his entire career is using his skating skill to avoid checks distributing the puck and that skill is being translated at the NHL level. Ho Sang's game is also individual skating skill to avoid defenders but his puck distribution skills are not as translatable to the NHL level as a winger. His on ice vision is ok but not at the level of Barzal.

That fly by at the blueline in the 3rd was another example of him sucking at d. also the opponents know he will spin and try crap and they stay on him and poke it away a lot. ive noticed they play barzal like teams did barry sanders in the nfl stay on him and wait for the cut back he will come back to you. That said barzal is smart enough to know when its not there to get it deep

Ho Sang a d prospect, Aho, Mayfield, Toews one of them, Pulock if needed but would rather keep him, and our # 1 to AZ for OEL.

That's the thing they can stay tight on him all they want they still can't get the puck and he eventually loses them in the dust

BArzal has more natural skill then Ho-Sang. Ho -Sang needs to realize that at this point he just needs to make the smart play and shoot the puck. I cant tell you how many times he tries that fancy pass and it is not there. Taht is the knock though on most of this team at times they try for that perfect or high light reel play. Just shoot the puck and go from there. It gets frustrating watching certain guys who have an open lane to shoot but the prefer to make the perfect pass

yea he is still super effective teams have just kept back pressure on him so those cut backs and tight turns are harder to do. now he has a very high hockey iq so he knows how to find the open guy or make the smart "chip and chase". ho sang is the last guy back and trying it at the blueline cause he thinks he can beat everyone one on one and thats the real difference right there, barzal uses his teammates to his advanntage and makes everyone around him better and ho sang is an individual trying to do it all

Ho Sang is a lot more physical and strong on his skates and good along the boards than I first thought along with good reaction time so if he sticks to a more basic game he will get his chances.

In jrs you get away with a lot, but in the NHL you have to know how to read the defenders and they can also trick you with more experience. The hot potato passes come because you only know how to play by making the first move.

I'll also say he's pretty terrible along the boards
