Things would look much brighter if the Blackhawk forwards were capable of shooting the puck into empty nets when given the opportunity. It’s been twice per game for the last 4 or 5. Vinnie last night, Panick, Kane, Schmaltz, AA, Sharp, Saad among the recent culprits.

This is a surprisingly physical, aggressive Blackhawks practice. 2-on-2 work getting heated in a good way. I figured this would be a shake-off-the-lactic-acid-after-standing-around-listening-to-speeches-for-40-minutes quickie.

That's high praise from Q, but it's still only one game. I'm not saying Oesterle can't continue to deliver at this level, I just need to see more consistency before I'm sold.

With ya Darth. I thought he looked good and has the skill set the Hawks can put into action, however, it will be nice to see how he looks vs. let's say Winnipeg.

Interesting stat. Brent Seabrook has not been a minus player in any game since October 28, 18 games ago (He is +12 in that span). And in the last 12 games he has only taken one minor penalty.

He isn't as slow as he looked early in the year, and Ulf has clearly given him some advice and confidence. His gap coverage and angles have been excellent recently.

The defense corps as a group is coming together and becoming more consistent. Once the forward group gets rolling, this team can go on a big run and get into the thick of things.

Glad you are so optimistic.

Need some semblance of a pp. Need no injuries. Need both a first and second line much more consistent. Then we are merely in position to win. Hartman playing and contributing makes us descent quality depth if Panic had not failed this season

It does not appear that there is anything to this / will be any disciplinary action by the team.

I've been saying for some time now that Panik should be traded. Given his current slump, though, it might have to be for a similar contract that also needs a change of scenery. Or they hope that someone bites at the trade deadline. Otherwise, they are probably stuck with him, and will need to make it work.

I would love to see more of either Oesterle or Kempny at 6D. Not like the power play is a quantum leap better with Franson these days.

Duchene has not done much since his trade to Ottawa and the team has gone completely into the tank since his acquisition.

Bobby Ryan is a great person, I especially loved his man on the street shtick when he first joined Ottawa. however, his hockey production at times . . well no thanks

Before we make #82 as the next Bobby Orr, let's see him in action against a real NHL team. Phoenix sucks!! Did he play well, sure, but he skated against the worst team in the NHL that the Hawks were tied with six minutes to play, and a team that played the night before to boot. Very average Hawks team that are painful to watch.

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun cites two league sources that tell him Karlsson hasn’t been discussed at all in trade talks with GM Pierre Dorion. Garrioch instead suggests that the trio of Mike Hoffman, Jean-Gabriel Pageauand Cody Ceci represent the “three best options that will bring return.” Hoffman was also among the group asked for their no-trade lists, while Pageau and Ceci have been linked to trade talks in the past.
