I wouldn't look for too much scoring from Hinostroza, he's a bit stone hands. But his speed really helps open up the ice and make defenceman tentative. Prefer him on the wing.

Panik is lost out there, although he was a bit better last night.

- RickJ

I think Vinnies hands are fine. Throughout his playing days from Jr's to College and the AHL he has always shown above average hands. I think once he gets more settled into the NHL game speed he will begin to show it. Right now, while he is moving fast skating wise, he is still rushing things when he gets the puck or tries to make a play. When he realizes he has a touch more time than it seems right now he will settle in. Look at how much DeBrincat improved once he settled into the NHL speed.

Hope you are correct, this team needs scoring punch up front - desperately.

But I also saw that chance he had on the doorstep with loads of time to bury it.

Before we make #82 as the next Bobby Orr, let's see him in action against a real NHL team. Phoenix sucks!! Did he play well, sure, but he skated against the worst team in the NHL that the Hawks were tied with six minutes to play, and a team that played the night before to boot. Very average Hawks team that are painful to watch.
- ChicagoHope

I don't think "painful" is the correct term. Frustrating or disappointing maybe a better term. Over the last 10 years the bar has been set so high by the organization and the level of play that the fans have been spoiled, now that they have regressed and are maybe more middle of the pack it's an unfamiliar view.

Agreed. The last couple games Oesterle played before last night he looked particularly bad.

He also wasn't playing next to Keith those games. I'm in for giving him a couple more shots with Keith and see how it goes. He's very raw still.

Great to see Vinny back ,now get him out there with Schmaltz and Hartman .as a 3rd line .

I wouldn't be surprised if Hartman accidentally liked that tweet. It is very easy to scroll down a series of tweets on a phone and accidentally like a tweet. If the thumb aligns with the like icon by accident while scrolling, not much anybody can do. It can be "unliked", but if that person is famous, lots of eyes are watching, and the image is captured and it's forever.

I have no issue giving #82 more time, I think he's earned that through his patience and a good start (i.e. one game). I still wouldn't get too excited just yet, he's still nto ahead of 2, 7, 5 (becoming a big fan), 42 (becoming a bigger fan), and 44.

Schmaltz looks really good out there with Anisimov and Kane, I wouldn't break them up.

I would like to see 38-48-14 together for a while. This means Sharp would sit as I think the 4th line of 17-57-40 has been quite effective.

No, but he's shown the ability to contribute to the D-core. Now, hopefully he can do it consistently. He has more upside than Franson.

If OST is our 7th I might be open to moving kempny he is not going to resign. Also sharp is no help on the 3rd line he cannot dig pucks out of the corner. outside of possible debrinct he is the worst of any guy in the corners.

I would sit Sharp a game but Q won't do it. Franson was playing Avg to below and it took a injury to sit him.

I would try and game with Hartman-Wingels-Hino on the 3rd line and move Panik to the 4th line.

Osterele and Kempny are both our 7th, just depending on which side they need a sub on.

OST playing on the Right is his off-side so my guess is if we had a opening on the LS he would play before Kempny. Murphy natural side is RD so we could have moved him up and take fransons spot and played Kempny with Seabs but h opted for OST on his off side leads me to believe he is behind OST. IMO.

Oesterle has always played on his off side from what I recall. Murphy has been significantly better on his off side as well, so no reason to change that. Maybe Oesterle is higher than Kempny though. Who knows.

That's high praise from Q, but it's still only one game. I'm not saying Oesterle can't continue to deliver at this level, I just need to see more consistency before I'm sold.

They are stuck with Kempny, the Hawks know how important defensive depth is come playoff time, so they'd like to keep him.

If there was a clear cut #1 D in Rockford who's play was begging them to be called up, then it'd be easier to move him.

Gustafsson would be the closes one but Kempny in my opinion is a much better option at this point.

We'll see what happens, but I wouldn't be surprised either way.

He's only played 64 career games (1 in the playoffs) so a team would be taking a chance on his potential still and the only way the Hawks get a useful player back is if said team sees said potential as a top 4 D.

Not sure if this means much of anything but:

Rockford #IceHogs have recalled defenseman Brandon Anselmini from the Indy #Fuel
#AHL #ECHL

They are now carrying 9 Dmen.

Rumors floating around that Ottawa brass wasn't very happy about him publicly saying he wouldn't take a hometown discount.

Justin or anyone on the panel hartman or panik for a 3rd line center and what center would fit the hawks? I have hino has looked really good lots of speed and not afraid to go into the corners and in front of the net good for him. Justin any trade rumors you hearing not only with the hawks but around the league?

Interesting stat. Brent Seabrook has not been a minus player in any game since October 28, 18 games ago (He is +12 in that span). And in the last 12 games he has only taken one minor penalty.

He isn't as slow as he looked early in the year, and Ulf has clearly given him some advice and confidence. His gap coverage and angles have been excellent recently.

The defense corps as a group is coming together and becoming more consistent. Once the forward group gets rolling, this team can go on a big run and get into the thick of things.

Things would look much brighter if the Blackhawk forwards were capable of shooting the puck into empty nets when given the opportunity. It’s been twice per game for the last 4 or 5. Vinnie last night, Panick, Kane, Schmaltz, AA, Sharp, Saad among the recent culprits.

Nope just a false sense of security with larger scores...
