You see more his right leg on the hit, and you’d think that was the leg. But it was his left. But more importantly he was also in midair, and that is very unusual to see an ACL injury like that in mid air without a foot plant. I mean those are more often non contact injuries and involve sudden cuts, it’s just weird to see it injured like that in mid air. Think about the physics of that and the torque required......he takes a last step immediately before the hit with his left foot.....
- Mononoke

My guess is it was injured prior to that play, it may have been inflamed or partially torn before that.

Yeah, one of the big questions coming in was how would G and V bounce back. If I told you on Labor Day that they'd have a combined 69 points in 29 games AND be a combined +13. you would have taken it and I would have too. The Flyers are at the if it ain't broke, don't fix it stage. I don't mind the idea of adding a veteran UFA stick in the offseason but not on one of those 7 year, $50 million deals.

What if the Sedins were available for 2-3 years at 4-5M per?

When given the choice to select the blue one or the mystery one, he chooses the mystery one in hopes that it's the blue one

Did I hear correct?
Gudas back in and Provorov out for Alt as Hak and Hextall think a few games in the press box would do wonders for Provy's development?

Why G back to center? Seems it would decrease his mileage and he's been playing well on wing IMO
- SimmerDown17

Okay, I'm gonna try to respond to all of you at once because the posts prior to this one were virtually the same response but I find this one to be the most interesting.

I don't think G is along term solution at LW. I don't. Is it a nice idea right now? Yes! After four seasons of being a No Show, Claude Giroux looks like he's back. The problem is, I wouldn't bring back Filppula. Some of you are talking about re-signing him. I don't think Filppula is better than JvR, Evander Kane or a streaky once upon a time Rick Nash. At least with Rick Nash, you get more size, he's a name and he fills a need regardless of whether or not he is what he was. I also don't think Rick Nash could possibly be offered what he's currently making.

As for our pipeline. Nobody should be OK with with waiting for Morgan Frost to develop or putting their hopes into Michael Raffl's current hot streak. Nobody should be okay with the Flyers being a one line team. I like the current changes/juggling made by Hakstol. The team looks refresh again. I still want more. I think this could be an even better team and I think this off-season has to be the one that improves us.

This post I'm replying to says he loves Simmonds. So do I but Simmonds is on RW. Let's get stronger on the other side.

Filpula walks, bring on both Sedins for two years. Perfect stop gap for the youth while being able to have a competitive team. Depending where Nolan is next season he and Henrik would be your 2C and 3C.

Whatever it takes to get rid of cap space to sign Simmonds
- YuenglingJagr

Read the blog again. Signing any player isn't gonna hurt this team. In fact even if we sign a guy from elsewhere and sign Simmonds, we still have crap to shovel out of here.

Solves PP2 issue, left wing issue, and adds center depth.

G - Coots - Jake
Daniel - Henrik - Simmonds
Patrick centering third with TK and someone else.
Plug in your fourth liners

I don't think the Sedins are stop gap players, nor do I think they're leaving Vancouver.

No way can we afford any more red heads on the team. Kick a ginger day will surely put one of our guys on IR

Call them whatever you want, adding those two for the right price makes our team much better and solves a few issues for a couple years before some of the young guys are ready. Depending on how the rest of the season goes I could see them weighing their options in the off season, probably unlikely.

JvR? nope

the blog says the Flyers will have a lot of cap space NEXT year....it didn't say they would the year after that because it depends on several things (Simmonds, Provorov, RFAs)

Hextall isn't signing a big name FA
