I thought it was only 3 b2bs for the the Leafs in December but it's actually 4. Are they going to play like once a week for the last two months of the season??
- markmark

end of march is a bit of mess; like last year.

So did we discuss how the sens want to have a fire sale?
- Aaron_85

as much as trading EK could make sense, i think the melnyk will be out to cut costs. could force dorion into some dumb moves.

hoffman and pagiroux might be sold off for cheap. pagiroux would look good as our 3C imo.

doorion is going to be ripe for the taking. pressure from melnyk will be to cut costs.

the return will be secondary.

I want to say we're on fire, but really...our goalies are on fire!

With a little help from their goalpost friends

*Waits for spreadsheet guy to arrogantly proclaim the (insert acronym) is unsustainable

Ya that happened once.
But they did have two hall of fame centers (one of which was the best player in the league) and one of the best scoring wingers in the game.

Both teams had bad puck luck around the net with posts and pucks dribbling through the crease. I'd say it was pretty close to even and you take away the PP gifts given to the Oilers and it's probably not even talked about.

A post is a missed shot. Just like 20 other times a game.

I hate how announcer says that a player bet the goalie when you hit the post. It's a missed shot

From what I see, he looks like he has loads of potential and a high ceiling.

But he won't be ready for a few years. People who have him in the top 4 next season or the one after are going to be dissipointed. Stay patient with him and we have a really good offensive defender in the future

Or......a good piece to trade

- Santo_44

Agreed.

NHL reffing is an absolute travesty, it's like they don't know they're on National tv.

Its because a goalie will rarely "go for" or attempt to get a shot wide of the net, but when it hits the post, the goalie is positioned to make the save and usually tries to save it but is beat and fortunately it hits the post.
But I get what you are saying.

OK Babs, the last couple of games they have started on time, but it is the rest of the game that they are chasing the game and not directing it.

probably zero. melnyk is too cheap.

they probably take back a worse player that's a little cheaper. idk, can't think of good fit, but something like dekeyser from detroit or brouwer from calgary.

Good god the Oilers just cannot catch a break this year.. Great games against the leafs.
Its soo frustrating that we seem to have the worst friggin luck against the leafs.. McD has not beaten the leafs since they drafted Matthews and its soo annoying lol. They have all been well played tight games, no puck luck at all for the Oilers. You look at Kadris blatantly obvious hold on Mcd last year that led to him scoring the OT winner, you look at Russell scoring on our own net late last game for the loss and now this game the Oil dominate after the first twenty minutes, it wasn't even close. I counted at least 4-5 posts and tons of chances that weren't buried or even shots on net. Don't get me started on that pathetic 5 on 3 for full two minutes with barely even a shot on net. No luck whatsoever against this team. Good games tho, good luck in the playoffs this year. Maybe we will see you there next year.

P.S - 5-0 without Matthews in insane, just shows how much more depth the leafs have. Imagine the Oil record with Connor missing 5 games. Wouldn't be pretty.

Just for fun I was looking up the stats of what the leafs record was after 31 games last year.

12-12-7 for 31 points

20-10-1 and 41 points this year.

They’ve be able to hold leads and not lose in overtime this year.
