Good they didnt deserve it the other night and they certainly didn't tonight. No urgency just gliding around out there. Disgusting. This team is just giving it away at this point and letting everything they gained go without any fight at all.

Let's hope they play well at home with 7 of 8 coming up

This team seems to be the type that needs constant motivation to get it going.

female dog praising how great rask has been is he watching the same game there haven't been a lot of high quality chances
- Upstate_isles

Guy gave up a ton of rebounds which is his normal MO. Islanders be damned to have any kind of net presence. Butch has an excuse for every time this team mails it in with a whimper. The real reason is this team didn't show up once again. To consistent for my liking under coach Dougie.

3 losses in a row after they were doing so well.

PK and power play have gone cold. First line has gone cold. December swoon?

Weight doesn't seem to be the guy to keep them consistently motivated. These lapses happen far too often.

I agree Cpt. Guys like Doug and JT seem to say the right things, but what are they really doing to get these guys ready?

As JS pointed out he was up against the best two way center in the league BUT he's been off for a little while here before this game. Team just isn't skating that's the main reason their PK sucks they don't move. It almost looks like fatigue the last 4 games or so.

I know coaches are suppose to motivate players but i think its more on some roster players that are just not a fit with this team ....

Like Nelson and de Haan. Some team will badly overpay de Haan especially.

I know there is nothing they can do now, but I hate just making the best player captain even if they have no personality.

Bailey was a no show tonight. Teams know they just have to play him a little bit physical and he disappears.

The emergence of Barzal makes Nelly expendable and im a fan of Brock, and Dehaan will be too expensive for a questionable top 4 dman
Dont leave out some other roster players, ie; Bailey, CC, CC,

Fan of Brock? I guess somebody has to be?

Bailey at least has some use now and Casey has some use. Cal not so much.

I don't hate Nelson either. Just a streaky player who always winds up on the third line where the rest of the under performing players go to die

That's two.

Nelson, Beau, and Ho Sang should really be able to get something done from the 3rd line. All the pressure on the top 2 lines.

Weight got out-coached and out-schemed. The plan was to get Bergeron out there everytime JT was out there tonight and it worked. Weight didn't adjust and it cost them. Still 53 games to go.
Also, I don't want to hear anymore talk of "we gotta get Boychuk to waive his NMC to make cap room." When healthy, he's proven to be a very good commodity on the top pair and with the cap going up this upcoming offseason, this contract is manageable regardless of the term. Not knocking Pulock individually, this time, but he doesn't have the chemistry with Leddy in the transition game like no. 55. We've missed Boychuk the last 2 games more than some fans realize.

Watching the replays of all the games last night I would say 70 to 80% of the goals were scored with one or more often than not two guys in front of the net. Islanders either have Ladd somewhat close to the net Lee (Who scored just like that) or nobody.

No one is suddenly willing to pay the price on this team. Bunch of perimeter players with Tavares being most guilty of this. Bergeron is obviously incredible defensively but if you're not even in a scoring position you don't have a chance to begin with. The same could be said for the 3 games before last night. Tavares and the rest of the team better dig themselves out of this or they'll be chasing their tail for the rest of the season. A ton obviously wrong with this Team, not skating, too much passing, special teams, neutral zone, etc... Could go on and on question is can they get themselves out of it before it turns into "something"? This to me is the defining moment so far this season.

This team seems to have a regular season offense. Things get much tighter in the 2nd half and playoffs and space is at a premium.

They also have AHL goaltending. If Halak makes that routine save against Marchand last night, they get at least a point out of the game. Isles have to hope that either Halak or Greiss finds their game..........and quickly.

No question John. Goaltending is a real concern. This team has more than a few. I really think Garth needs to shake up this roster a little. Coaching change alone will not do it.

Well, as you and cpt were discussing, the 3rd line has been the least effective line. Not sure what could help them. Maybe Shane Prince [fingers crossed].
