I'm a Joe Sakic man. Have his autographed rookie card and his Team Canada Jersey. Sue me Tre Kronor.
- AdamFrench

But serious answer: I always thought that Sakic allowed Forsberg to do what he did best: just play hockey.

Sakic was the captain, and shouldered all of the crap that came with it.

Forsberg was left alone to just play hockey.

I always thought that Sundin would have benefitted from such an arrangement.

Let me ask you this, Frenchie:

Seventh game of the Stanley Cup. You can pick either Forsberg or Sakic.

Three hours before the game, a blizzard outside prevents the Avalanche from getting from the team bus to enter the Pepsi Centre.

Who do you get to operate the snow blower?

It probably would have helped. Having consistent HOF level players joining a team consistently would have helped too...and not ones on their last legs like Francis and Lindros.

Tolvanen has been more impressive. KHL is a better league
- gretzky

Pettersson leads the entire SHL in scoring as a rookie despite averaging 15 minutes of ice time a night which is way less than all the other scoring leaders.

I got roasted for suggesting we pick this guy.

Everybody thought passing on Vilardi was stupid yet he hasn't even played a single game in any league since being drafted.

- classic321

Nah the clique was on a Canadian first Glass/Vilradi high and a no more Swedes campaign. So when they heard EP came to Vancouver and met the Sedins there was a backlash.

I thought he was best talented kid in draft next to Middlestadt and DCT also piped in with that assessment. Makar was the outlier given how hard it is to get top end RHD. Nico, Nolan, Vilardi and Glass were closer to NHL ready but with less upside.

But no one thought JB would have the balls to take the long rode development wise on more raw EP given his contract was running out. Now if EP can gain enough strength to play in smaller time and space NHL rink by next season JB may get extended.

That's the second dig you took at JB's drafting abilities in this thread. All you got is pretty boy Nylander to harp on because it takes longer to develop power forward JV.

But hey Liljegren didn't fall he was strategically picked...

So franking laughable.

Calling your prospects “B grade” is vastly over-rating them.

What team do you cheer for again?

- Atomic Wedgie

Awwwwwww..........

Listen to the Leaves fans crying that that the leaves are not the centre of the conversation in the centre of their universe.

Awwwwww.......... it's kinda cute actually.
