I'm off today to start cooking for when the outlaws show up for holiday dinner tomorrow, so I might start a bit early myself.

Is there a holiday I don't know about this weekend?

Hank should be on a short leash. If he lets in a few quick ones, yank him. He wants to play every game but he might be coming back a tad early from the flu

So we get another Kinkaid/ Pavelic matchup tomorrow, these games have lost some of their luster.

Oh yeah, I don't give a damn if they're $1B over the luxury tax threshold. Give me all the homeruns.

if George was still alive, they'd be having the news conference already

Nah. We are lucky enough to be kind of centrally located between wife's aunt, brother and sister, so I get to cook for the holiday get together. This is the only weekend that works for them this year.

One interesting thought I read was that they would obviously try to dump Ellsbury if they were going to get Stanton. Ellsbury has a NTC. Scott Boras is Ellsbury's agent and is also Bryce Harper's, who grew up a Yankee fan and is a free agent next offseason. Would Boras advise one client to waive his no-trade, so the Yankees can land a guy that would effectively destroy Harper's chances are playing here?

They do a pub crawl by me on beach bikes at the end of the season. I throw tacks in the road

So Barry Trotz sucks at trash talking. You can't trash a man and then so oh no he was actually ok, he was fine.

Did the Caps even scout Shattenkirk before they traded for him, or did they just read all the great stuff fans said about him and decide "He's the guy for us !!!" They knew who they were getting and what he was likely to do for them in a short stint. Sounds like they're just mad he didn't re-sign there after giving up the assets.

Cap projection for next season is between $78-82 million, depending on NHLPA's use of inflator, Bettman says. Cap this season is $75 mil. Bettman says League revenues expected to rise 8.2 percent up to $4.54B U.S.

Can we buy our Tavares Rangers jersey yet?

If we got him, I would buy Chiefs one to

He refused to waive his no-trade clause for the Giants or Cardinals and his list of teams he would accept trades to either "is" or "includes": the Yankees, Dodgers, Cubs, and Astros.

I still think it's highly unlikely that he comes to the Yanks, for a multitude of reasons, but it would be awesome to see a murderer's row of Judge/Sanchez/Stanton/Bird/Didi right through the heart of the order.

- eichiefs9

One of those would have to go the other way in any possible deal for Stanton. Not happening. I would love to see that, too though. Yanks wouldn't have to worry about pitching

I don't think that's the case at all.

Everything I can find to read is saying it would have to be one of their top prospects. Marlins are $400M in debt, I don't think they want to add salary.

But I don't honestly know, so I guess we'll see. It appears that a lot of things need to happen in order for them to be able to take on Stanton, but it would sure be fun to watch. I'd much rather have him over Bryce Harper.
