Well it's a lot of gash to be fair.

Same old poop day in day out. Does anyone actually come for the blogs? Tell me it ain't so.

I'd like to know if you only click on the comments, and not the blog itself, does the blogger get paid?

Who the poop is gonna do anything from those teams?

Chara is all I can think of from Boston
I can't even think of a Shark
Ducks?
Oilers? Lucic and Maroon I spose
Chicago? Chicago? Chicago?
Winnpeg? Fat (frank) Buff and Laine?

- walshyleafsfan

Boston: McQuaid, Backes, Beleskey, Miller, Carlo
SJ: Dillon, Burns
Ducks: Perry, Getlaf, Kessler, Ritchie, Manson
Chicago: Murphy, Tootoo, Bouma, Keith
Winnipeg: Buff, Trouba, Scheifele, Chiarot

I guess SJ not the best example

Not so sure about that: Tavares is a true number one centre. He would be king in Montreal, and I think Montreal is easily one of the meccas of hockey. He would do much better there than playing for Wang and his incompetent management staff.

Did he not sell the team?

The best was when Tkachuk went sliding into Andersen late in the game after he missed a shot. Gardiner was standing about 5 feet away. Does nothing, just stands there. NOTHING. You don't have to be a goon, but at least go over and make the appearance you care and are not scared.

Ottawa loses again! Joy!

Tavares destinations imo:

1) Isles: 90%
2) Rangers: 8%
3) Leafs: 1%
4) the field: 1%

I usually agree with you, and Islanders may resign him, but if you think about it, what chance does he have to win the cup on the Island (Brooklyn) - third worst in attendance last year, worst this year. Speaks volumes about the ownership and management there not so much the fan base. Hard to call it a small market team in NY. It's like when the Jays had sh!tty attendance and claimed it was a small market team - BULLSH!T! Small market team by choice or incompetence.

The last comparable is Stamkos and he stayed at a discount. While possible, NYI not being run the same way.

chiarelli has been the best gm the isles have had in 40 years. he's single handedly turned them into a playoff team.

There's won't be 31 10M+ for 8 years offers for Tavares.
- Scabeh

There will be many teams that will make him an offer. Maybe money isn't number 1 on his list. Maybe he takes less then 10 like Stamkos did. Is it unlikely Yes, but I don't know what he is looking for.

Also they will be teams that don't have he space but will find ways to make it, if hey can get him. For example Toronto can let Bozak, JVR, Komorov and any other expiring contract walk, trade Kadri for just picks to fit him in. I'm sure other teams would be happy to trade some of their players for pennies on the dollar if it makes room for him.

In fairness to Torrey he did not leave until 1992 - was a great GM - but Chiarelli is a beauty! The gift that keeps on giving. Ray Shero might win GM of the year thanks to Chiarelli

yeah, i think there's a few darkhorse teams that could make some moves. Stevie Y can probably move johnson etc. to make room.

Never count out the allure of playing hockey in LA; though that may be a harder cap fit.

i still think rangers will have the inside track if he's unsigned at the end of june.

Frustrating one, Andersen was good, can't continue to let teams pull that dirty stuff around the crease. Polak is not the answer, need a big D there to react appropriately when Andersen gets run over.

Borgman seems to be doing pretty well laying out the hits, need to teach him to clear the front of the net now.

It's hilarious to see all the Leafs haterz coming out of the woodwork to shoot down this roomer.

Pretty obvious he wants to come home and play for the team he grew up idolizing.

Suck it haterz - he isn't going to re-sign with his current crappy team.

It's just a matter of time before Stamkos is a Maple Leaf.

Tavares is great, but I think I'd rather keep JVR and Kadri. Leafs are good up front, focus on the back. If he doesn't return to NYI, what about the Sharks? They seem to be in need of a #1C. Seems like a pretty awesome place to play too

Good news for the leafs.

NHL shared next season salary cap projection with Governors today: between $78 M and $82 M depending on negotiated inflator with NHLPA in June... so either way, up from current $75 M

based on the odds, 1/31, there is a 3.2% chance that Tavares becomes a Maple Leaf on the flipside, there is a 96.8% chance that he does not become a Maple Leaf..

So, there is a chance..

Tavares costs nothing but money.

So if you add him, you can then trade a forward for a defenceman.

Because let's be honest - if (big if) Tavares becomes available, there isn't a comparable UFA defenceman on the market in summer 2018.

And the odds are slim there will be a comparable one in summer 2019, either (maybe OEL).
