I'm probably in the minority here, but whoever goes after Doughty and Karlsson are going to regret it.
Doughty will get 7 years at the age of 30. For at least 10 mil a year. He also has a lot of miles on him with the Kings.
I personally think Drew is extremely overrated and doesn't take over a game like Karlsson, Burns, Hedman, Subban and Hainsey can.
He gets about 40-45 points per year and is solid but not spectacular.
Also, if the opposition has Tkachuk, Drew has no interest in the hockey game and is rendered completely useless. - walshyleafsfan

If they let Bozak, Komarov and JVR walk, there is room for Tavares.. IF, he does become available. - PatC80
While there were undoubtedly times that I was not so sure he would be back, I'm now pretty damn confident that he'll be sticking around. Arena problems have a very-near end in sight. The offense is firing on all cylinders with only more help coming down the road.
His two biggest sticking points were: the arena situation and the direction the team was heading in. Obviously there is still plenty of work to be done with the defense and goaltending, but they're certainly trending in the right direction. As far as the arena, the Islanders have all-but-been-awarded the RFP to build at Belmont. Obviously nothing is a lock, with Tavares, but the Isles are starting to check all the boxes he required and I would imagine that he'll sign once the season ends. |

About a year ago, a father of two boys and local coach passed away. Heartbreaking. When Hometown Hockey came through our town, Ron Maclean spent time with the boys and cbc did a feature on their Dad.
Almost a year later, the mother of these two boys also passed. Neither boy is out of elementary school. Absolute tragedy. Today at the service, Ron MacLean showed up, unannounced and met with the boys, giving them each a custom jacket. I had no idea this happened until after the service. He didn't want any recognition, kept it quiet, but stayed for the whole service.

I am sure he will stay.... I think the only reason he would leave, would be because he wants out. |

There's won't be 31 10M+ for 8 years offers for Tavares. - Scabeh
that's true... but it will only require one with a more appealing set of circumstances than the Isles (or Habs)...
I would think that Vegas would put a serious out there for Tavares - and so would the Canucks.

If you read the CBA, the section on cap circumvention basically says that if it doesn't pass the sniff test, the league can say no. - Atomic Wedgie
I get what your saying but basically the league can't say s__t here. They have allowed the Duncan Keith, Marion Hossa and earlier the Kovalchuk "Cap Circumvention Deals"....
they might make some noise but that would be behind the scenes... I'm sure MLSE would tell then where they put their complaint.
Heck, just send Gary to the Lupul/Robidas Island... if he makes too much noise.

The NHL will do nothing as this happens with a good chuck of teams and their sponsors. They sponsor the club or arena and then sign deals with a player. This wouldn't even be a first for Scotia bank, who have been a sponsor for the Calgary flames, and also have the arena name rights, and had an agreement with Iginla. |

This buying or that domain, for instance, has no issues at all. If you find
https://www.namecheap.com/ Namecheap here and investigate the numerous domains available, making the decision is not difficult and is pretty doable. I personally enjoy this a lot because I frequently develop different websites. I hope I might be of assistance. |
