I won't go over the other parts to the article here not to pontificate the issue. But the weight of which is given more value was never the point or of contention.

It was the quality and volume of having Canuck prospects at WJC; as well as, perform on good teams. This is a development measure which factor's into these players showing prospect value and having a legitimate chance for progression. To which some may compete for a Canuck roster spot sooner then later. The impact of that progressing the rebuild.

Just an add on commentary of clarification. Only 2 of these prospects should be in the running for Canuck roster next season. The other two for Comets and the rest stay within their league development track.

Having a higher quantity of players in the tournament is great for any team. I will point to these Q&A responses from Pronman as to why I dont individually hold much stock into it though:

@bollo3532: I'm surprised David Quenneville (NYI) didn't get an invite are you?

So, he’s on your right side. For Canada, Dante Fabbro (NSH) and Cale Makar (COL) are locks there already. Figure they’ll go four forwards/one defenseman on the power play. Makar is on the first unit, Jake Bean (CAR) on the second unit. There’s a lack of roles now for Quenneville. Cal Foote (TBL) and Conor Timmins (COL) are right shots who are better defensively and can PK. I like Quenneville as a prospect, but I can see why he got squeezed out.

Alex Neufeld: I'm curious about your thoughts on Canada's WJC invitees. Personally think Cliff Pu (BUF) and Adam Mascherin (FLA) should have at least received invites, your thoughts?

I would have invited both over Tanner Kaspick (STL), Alex Formenton (OTT) or Maxime Comtois (ANA), but Canada always wants designated penalty killer types.

Thats why I dont think representing your country at this tournament holds greater stock, being considered is definitely something to be proud of particularly for later round picks, but there are reasons behind the choices that I personally dont think accurately reflects the players future or their abilities

$650m expansion fee for Seattle

I wonder how many teams (and players for that matter) will be thinking of NMC's in time for the 2020 expansion draft, or keeping kids under 2 years pro for protection purposes

And yes, Loui Eriksson's NMC is gone after this season and can be exposed

Bettman announces that the NHL Board of Governors has agreed to accept/consider an expansion application from Seattle and allow Bonderman group to conduct a season ticket drive

We would be good at that time i'd think, any player not in the NHL this year would essentially be exempt.
That is only 2 seasons away. Unless they push it to 2021.

He's finally going to earn his money and you want to get rid of him.

Very true, assuming that the rules are the same Boeser/Horvat/Virtanen/Goldobin/Baertschi are likely the important ones needing protection up front. Defense is a little too fluctuating to tell, and Demko would be the obvious one in net.

I think Dahlen's pro years wouldnt count until next year anyway

Relocation possibility is included in the Seattle expansion process. Again, very similar to process observed in expansion to Las Vegas.

Bettman says he doesn't know where this leaves Quebec City other than to say right now they're only looking at Seattle for possible expansion. Points to geography and chance to balance the conferences

Quebec getting the runaround, bring back the Nordiques!

Blake Price: Think the Seattle team would want the blue/green combo to match the other teams? Aquilini could fleece them to get it, and then the Canucks go back to black/red/yellow?

I believe it goes to a full NTC for two years, after the NMC, then a limited NTC, but I've been wrong lots before

They could wear any combo they want as long as it's slightly different, like the T-Birds. Islanders and Oilers kinda thing.

Final two seasons are modified NTC. 15 team no trade list submitted leaves 17 teams to trade with if we have a new team in 2020.

Thanks for making me look. I'm so lazy with looking these days. Tired of being close but no cigar.

I'm torn between wanting to see them do a Metropolitans-type scheme and a new blue/green scheme. Green in an underappreciated hockey colour IMO

Damn i'm in serious in epic christmas spirit. Picked up the daughter from after school program and i'm singing christmas tunes. Parents (all older) are looking at me as if i'm on some sort of happy drug. Daughter hears me and just joins in.

She ain't blood but she's definitely mine.

If the NHL was even half as smart as euro football clubs. They change the jersey every year so the fans have to buy a new one. If Aqua man was smart, he would sell the colors and get new colors and wow cash flow.
