After watching Burmistrov last night you can understand why Canucks did this. It is also time to move on from the Gaunce try out.

Chance is still there. Burmistrov has had about 5 good games and more invisible games. He had a strong start to the season

They've just gotta stay patient and continue to build from within. Trying to compete in the form of spending assets to improve is ridiculous and God help us I'm sure they know that. The move for Dowd is a nothing move really.
The Flyers aren't a very good team at this point but the guys they do have with skill played well enough to overcome a Canucks team that really lacks any skill to speak of outside of Horvat and Boeser, one of which is hurt. |

I've liked parts of Goldy's games because he drifts in and out of the game so much. IMO. He's got skill. He's also still very much has a junior style game. He is also as soft as LE and HS. Over time I think he will learn to battle a bit more. Or he gets his bell rung and goes back to Russia.
I like Gaunce's 4th line game. He's in on the forecheck. Grinds away down below the goal line. 1.84 hits per game. Defensively he is very good. As for his scoring, well I think he should probably shoot less and just take the puck to the net and hope he takes out enough people it goes in. |

Most of us tempered our expectations this season, this shouldn't be a surprise. My entertainment comes from watching the young guys play.

Flyers are a better team then most think right now.
They were 8-6-2 before going 3-5-5. A young team that is going to have ups and downs. |

The Canucks actually had more pressure 5 on 5 but they lack any finish, they play a better team game than Philly does.
Goldobin was invisible last night, suppose to be a skill guy, Boeser is a stealth type player that's not fast but he hits the holes nicely and his position is outstanding. The team really need to concentrate on drafting more centres until they have strength at that position. |

I also liked Schwartz, glad he's finally healthy and playing consistent games. Armstrong should probably get GM of the year for that trade alone if STL can get to the conference finals. |

I think he was trying to not be insensitive. How can he not trade for a fwd who can hit or fight when he has an entire roster who wont. |
