@ the salt over the Flyers in this thread. They're a random Eastern conference team with no rivalry with Vancouver at all. I wonder why they have a few posters here so riled up.....

Pretty meh trade, but i have no issues with it. Dowd is a better depth player than Chaput and quite possibly Burmistrov. Subban is still up and down at the AHL level, he's not progressing and is only losing value with each passing season at this point.

Subban is no loss. I am glad we got something for him but will be extremely interested how much rope he is given in LA or is it straight to the minors.

I just want to know the basics....

1. Does he like Soup?

2. What kind of soup does he like?

3. Is there a kind of soup he does not like?

4. Is there........ soup.

Straight to the AHL, I'm guessing this was more of a AHL move for them to get their AHL PP going, if he suddenly shows NHL upside then it's just gravy for them.

Dowd wasn't a top 12 forward for them apparently, and that's even with a couple of forwards injured so it made sense for both sides. Kings fans seem to think he's decent though, but we'll see.

For me its all about a sad team of cronies like the Oilers. Clarke Holmgren Hextall all 3 i never had any respect for. Dinosaurs.
Other than that its the constant goalie search.

I remember the Broad St Bullies & our battles when we more than held our own then.

lol

They were in the SCF not too long ago and have made a few decent playoff runs over the past 10 years or so. The Oilers made one SCF in somewhat recent history and have pretty much been bottom feeders since then besides last year.

Putting them in the same class as the Oilers is a joke man.

It's like me randomly getting riled up for a game against the Islanders

Well he was gutless when in the time when you fought your own battles. Dirtbags like him get it much worse now over hardly nothing. Remember Kharlamov?

I'm sure he was a huge dbag, but the guy is nothing but a figurehead for the Flyers now, he has no say or real stake in the team. Seems weird to hold such a strong grudge and carry it over to a team that has no beef with the Canucks today.

To each their own, I just found it kinda funny and random, no harm done.

Let's see if Benning can get the same luck out of this deal as he did with another decent depth move in Pouliot.

Dowd likely is what he is at this point, 27 year old forward compared to DP being a 23 year old dman.

- He played on the 4th line

- He's not good at scoring goals

- he's an OK playmaker for a 4th liner

- he's good at keeping play in the opponent's end of the ice

- Nucker101

After watching Burmistrov last night you can understand why Canucks did this. It is also time to move on from the Gaunce try out.

Do we still own the rights to Subbans feelings?
