I don't think that counts as sexually explicit. It looks like she's intubating herself

What risk though? If he isn't going to resign, you traded him for what you could get. If you resign him after the trade, you win doubly. The only "risk" I'd say would be if he goes to a playoff team, loves it there and decides to resign.

I really just want to avoid losing him for nothing. If there is any doubt he will resign, he has to go by the TDL.

Well of course u don’t lose him for nothing...

But the original premise was
instead of signing him now, trade him for the assets & sign him july1

No one thinks we should just hold onto him

Vancouver would be a nice landing strip for the tank. They will screw it up this year and we will get a good first for Kane and a good second for Sa, maybe a prospect or 2m

I understand, I'm just not sure of a scenario where there's a huge risk. This is all assuming he's willing to resign. If we take that as a given we can resign now, July 1st or trade and resign.

Was just saying that I think if you asked the player, he said he wants to come back, you trade him and get the assets. It's a double win and if the player knows this is occurring, no hard feelings to be had. I don't see it as risky to trade him away because if his mind is actually made up, 3 months won't be enough time for him to fall in love with the city of Nashville or something.

The lose him for nothing was just a bare minimum and more of an aside. I don't want a Drury/Brierre situation with him due to the price we paid to acquire. I'd sell him for a 2nd if that was the best we could do.

Edit: I probably just misinterpreted your first point, apologies if so.

It’s been said that Kane likes it here...
but there’s no way his agent would allow him to say, “yeah, we will def sign july1”

Even if he wants to be here & nowhere else,
they’d wanna use the threat of going elsewhere to get the best contract possible

Therefor,
there’s no way to know if he’d really want to sign with us July1 or not

Also...
what if he goes to StL or Anaheim or whatever, also likes it there a lot & they’re also willing to pay him?
His mind could very well change

I’m saying it’s risky in the sense that there’s no way we’d be able to know 100% for sure that we could bring him back July1

And yes,
This is all based on the premise that we could sign him right now
If we can’t,
then the whole premise of the original post makes zero sense

Obviously we have to trade him & get something if we can’t sign him before the deadline

Yeah I see what you're saying there, people do change their minds and after the toxicity in WPG he might think Buffalo is a paradise regained. I guess I'm of the mind that if a deal was on the table he'd be willing to sign now, I could believe him more.

Goes like this:

You want to sign a 6 year 42M dollar contract with the Sabres, Kaner?
Yes.
Want to play some playoff hockey this Spring or no?
Yes.

Trade.

Could he love Anahiem and stay? Yes. But I don't know if that's a huge risk if the conversation goes like this. If the first question is a maybe, he's gone. If the second answer is a no, resign him now.

A) you should know better than listening to him by now

B) where does he live?
Apparently they are getting snow in the Southtowns, just not in the City of Buffalo

It's a different world in Hamburg. I'm right on the lake next to the arena watching the sunset, but took me 40 minutes to get here.

Just the atmosphere in a winning locker room (which some say is an issue here) and the excitement of playoff hockey...
that could easily be enough to change his mindset

So yeah, I’d say it’s a “huge” risk

yeah, one of the things that infuriates me when anyone not from buffalo tries to tell me how much snow buffalo gets and I try to explain to them that's one of the biggest myths since Jesus Christ was born on December 25th

You may be right. Might not be Fuccilo "huge" but still something to factor.
