Talk about putting G back at center is dumb, the man is playing his best hockey he has in a few years and putting up points like has not done in 3-4 years. why would you want to mess with that?

dude - can't start Lyon with an opportunity to get to ".500" on the line

can't do it

this is too important

- Scoob

I agree, they really don't have a choice. Lyon has been so-so at best at LHV and should be firmly glued to the bench until the glass goalie returns.

No that's wrong. Looking at the future is what it is all about so projecting who the Flyers have potentially playing center in the future is a legitimate part of the conversation.

As I've said in the past, I agree that right now, playing Giroux at center makes the Flyers a better team now. My focus and I think the Flyers focus is on the future rather than a move now that might make them a playoff bubble team. The future far outweighs now.

- MJL

Just as long as it isn't the 3rd period of a hockey game

Again...WHEN someone is capable of playing center, then the Flyers should take on the daunting task of moving Giroux slightly to the left

The future can be focused on with Giroux at center and IMO actually helps. A better center makes the players on his wings better. What future development is coming with a top 6 of:
28-14-17
12-51-93

Giroux at center gives guys like Weal and Konecny (and Lindblom) a chance to be more effective.

The team lacks secondary scoring.

The team started the season scoring goals. And then they ran into trouble. It's not just on the centers. The Flyers need guys like Simmonds, Konecny, Weal, Weise, Patrick, Filppula and Raffl all to be better.

- J35Bacher

Raffl has been productive since they moved him up. Him and Laughton were too similar as players, (strong at possession but lacking creativity) and the "Honey Bees" barely scored a goal.

Leier-Laughton-Weal is a line that will score some goals.

I got ya, though it would be nice to have a goalie lighting it up at LHV that we could trust to start a game or two. Hopefully we'll have 2 of them in 18-19

I'm okay with G on the wing, esoecially right now where he's been pretty effective. But when secondary scoring is a struggle for an extended time, I think it's definitely an option to move him to second or first line center to shake things up and look for chemistry somewhere. I don't get that vibe out of Hak right now, and on that front I'm with you.

Is it something I'm gonna raise hell over? Nah. I have other, more pressing issues with Hak right now. I'm sure you do too and I trust they're similar to mine.

- Giroux_Is_God

Raising hell out of boredom, but any time they aren't playing what I think is the best lineup they are capable of playing I am going to be annoyed on some level. The best lineup is really where it all starts for me, because I think it is a better environment to develop (which I am assuming is your "more pressing issue")

We want Konecny to play well and start scoring but he has played almost the entire season with Filppula, Patrick, Lehtera, and Weal as his centers

He makes $8 million dollars per year. Are we saving him in bubble wrap for a future occasion or something? Maybe we should put plastic wrap on him like my aunt's couch?

Get him out there in optimal situations.

I've often said that a coaches top priority is to win games so that is what the coach is doing in the 3rd period. However that doesn't mean that decisions like moving Giroux shouldn't be made because he can be effective and help the team win playing the wing. and it's better for the future.
Like I've said multiple times, I think you're correct in stating that right now, playing Giroux at center would make the Flyers a better team now.

I noticed Provorov has really upped his physical play and snarl in recent games. He has never been a soft player, but if this added element is a trend, my God he is going to be an animal.
- MBFlyerfan

and to think, he's only 20. He is a pleasure to watch. So smooth and cool back there.

Elliott has been solid too.

Yup, I agree on the Konecny point. He needs to be in the top 6 instead of yankes around. I've quietly wanted to see he and Patrick with one of G or Jake on the second line.
