but Ghost is a guy who will always have to walk a fine line and sometimes he'll cross it.

And that's a risk you have to be willing to take if he's bringing something unique on the offensive side.

Does anyone know, or know where to find, what the Flyers orange Pantone number is?

I found one mention that it is/was 172 CV but not sure if that is still true.

https://www.pantone.com/color-finder/172-C

This gives some other info:
https://teamcolorcodes.co...lphia-flyers-color-codes/

Playing with the codes there on this site
http://www.ginifab.com/feeds/pms/

I get different PMS (Pantone) numbers - but generally 172 C or 2028 C result. They're clearly different colors though.

Ghost over Provorov for PP1.

His style of play in terms of translating to SH goals for the opposition over the course of a year would be what, 2 per season? There is more of a disparity than 2 goals difference positively from Ghost to Provy for a season on the PP.

If they do eventually trade Ghost I believe the probable eventual logic will be that they believe Sanheim can take over PP1. A bit away from the prospect of that, however.

Not sure how our youth getting little or no play in the 3rd aids in development.

Nutter's crazy thoughts.

I dont give a rats ass if not playing the kids at times is historically the norm. Doesn't make it right.

Behind the times thinking, which is not uncommon with the club.

i think something that's getting lost in the ranting is that patrick is honestly not playing very well right now. im not sure if letting him struggle for 14 mins is better than for 8 mins

TK and Sanheim have been playing pretty well so they should recieve more ice time, but again it makes sense to bench the younger players who aren't as responsible defensively with the game on the line

what you dont wanna see is them being benched when its tied or we need a go ahead goal

just my $.02

Timonen was an All-Star defenseman who was both talented and smart. He was one of the best 2-way defenders in team history. Gostisbehere is an offensively minded defenseman who will always have defensive issues. Effort is a different issue, but Ghost is a guy who will always have to walk a fine line and sometimes he'll cross it.
- jmatchett383

You're not understanding. Ghost doesn't even use the sane offfensive smarts Kimmo does. Heck, Kimmo is better on the PP then Ghost and he probably has five power play goals total in his entire Flyers career.

Kimmo Timonen, Mark Streit, Shayne Gostisbehere, Ivan Provorov.

Since Peter Laviolette adjusted the Power Play to the current umbrella format, in my mind nobody has played as responsible as Kimmo Timonen. Timonen didn't turnover the puck. He kept things simple. He was also always defensively aware. The turnover that led to the first goal shorthanded was all Sean Couturier but the effort on Shayne Gostisbehere was nothing short of terrible. I feel like Ghost is going to lose his spot to Provorov much sooner then later. Timonen was smart. He knew when to shoot. When to pass. When to take a slap shot from the top of the umbrella. He knew when to wrist the puck through traffic while looking for Simmonds or Hartnell's tape. I think I see more Timonen in Provorov than Ghost, who I feel doesn't always play that smart on the PP.

- SuperSchennBros

Dont think Provy has close to the ability to run the power play as ghost does. When Ghost was out you could see a big difference... now would i Trade Ghost for the right player, probably

I will take the bad with the good that Ghost brings. I do not see another defender in the NHL with a better ability to fake out opponents with his slick style on the blueline and such!

Imagine him with Sanheim/Prov in a system like Lava employs.

I wonder if Weise's highlight reel goal showed Chirelli his value last night and maybe we could squeak out a 3rd round pick included with RNH in the deal?

Just so we're clear: you think that Timonen only had 5 or fewer career PP goals as a Flyer?

And yes, Kimmo is a much smarter defender, very similar to Desjardins. Ghost is a risk taker, which he has to be in order to be effective. Timonen was a much calmer, steady player.

Should be another easy two points against Vancouver, they've got two players worth mentioning and one just broke his foot.

I don't know how they're doing it with that line-up but I can't believe they're ahead of the Flyers in points? Theyve got two guys worth mentioning, Horvat and Boeser, the definition of a one line team with terrible defense.
