Ok, when is the decision made to be sellers? Or, is making the playoffs & going out round 1 acceptable?
- Aussiepenguin

I think this early on, take the growing pains or sell off bottom six and a bad contract or two. Doesn’t matter.

I’d wait closer to the deadline. Move Maroon and a couple others then.

I think there are many fans that would say playoffs are better than no playoffs and of course that's true to a degree. However if the cost of making the playoffs is trading away say Yamamoto and a 1st round pick for immediate help, then losing in 4 games in round 1, then that immediate help you acquired leaves for free agency, then it was not worth it.

You guys will be alright, Russell's, lucic and Dre arn't signed for to long, hopefully you can trade one of lucic or Russel a year and you'll be fine. Talent wins out in the end, and you guys still have Some high end talent.

I wonder if his wife came up with that as well and they churned it out of the buzztron 9000.

Yeah. He’s fuking awful.
I think we’ve got to find a taker now and sweeten the pot as much as possible. if this continues and more people start to take notice, he’ll be Untradeable even in the last year of his deal.

A buyout is pretty much inevitable.

We aren't in a place this year, where we should be buyers at all. Chiarelli better not mortgage the future thinking otherwise. We should hold onto tradeable assets right up until the deadline to maximize their return. Overpays happen every year on deadline day. If Maroon and Letestu aren't willing to sign cap friendly extensions, they could both bring back a very good pick or prospect. I would hate to see either of them go but it may have to happen.

It's over. Our D and goaltending is in shambles. Playoffs aren't happening. But we're gonna have to ride it out. A trade right now wouldn't be smart at all. We can't afford to lose value anymore to get pieces we need. Draft the BPA, trade assets at the deadline, and hopefully make a better go of it next year. Sucks, but that's just the way it is.

Need him at 15 minutes instead of 22. That would probably go a long way

Maybe some lucky GM gets himself a "shutdown defenseman" at the deadline, looking for depth in the playoffs. I still think we would need to retain salary. What a terrible contract

Imagine you're working in a job where your mediocre performance meant you might get fired soon. You discover an opportunity that might be able to hold that off for at least a year... what would you do?
