That’s brutal for us. Trade a player that compares directly to Simmonds at that age, our best defensive player that isn't Trouba and that we have no replacement for, and a 1st for a 30 year old about to be overpaid. We don’t even need him. He’s not as good as 5 of our wingers.

my only hope is since you refuse to discuss how wrong you were about Postma now that's he's gone, you will follow suite with Dano in a short while when he is released.

but in all sincerity, all the best to my fellow Jets fans this Holiday Season, lets keep it as civil as possible

I don't see Philly wanting Enstrom ( a pending UFA, and the Flyers are deep with young D, so the only D I can see them wanting is a Trouba type, that would allow them to possibly move one of their young D prospects )

Dano at this point has negative value, seriously no team would give us anything higher than a 6th rounder at this point for him.

If we stay roughly where we are in the standings our first rounder will be a late 20 pick.

I think Philly will want more.

I'm ok with Simmonds, he'd be a beast for us in the playoffs!! but is still think we need another center. It would allow us to bring Raslovic up on the wing to start his NHL career, we could test out Little or Lowry on the wing, it would give us a lot of options!! if Buffalo would eat 20% of Ryan O'Riely's contract, i'd love to see him here!!! I'd offer Stanley, a 2nd rounder and Petan for him

For what's it's worth I heard from more than one close to the organization and those involved that Chevy wanted Maurice to coach this year without an extension and wait and see and Chipman over rided him and signed Maurice who he is supposedly now very good friends with. Again, who knows for sure, I wasn't in the room.

If this is true, I’m instantly concerned about the team’s future. We’re winning on sheer talent and Hellebuyck. We’re not icing the best possible lineup, and not addressing the PK, so who knows if Maurice has actually turned a corner here.

I wasn’t wrong about Postma, he’s still criminally underused. Same goes with Dano.

Relating specifically to that trade suggestion, Dano is in the same situation Simmonds was in with LA. Scored early, looked to be heading up, fell out of favour with his coach, then was traded. Dano just went from a coach that didn’t have time to be patient in Chicago, to one who is bad with young players (and overall) here.

Enstrom is our top defensive player on the left side, and would’ve been the top lefty on the FA market this past offseason. We can’t replace him with Niku yet, and we have nobody else with a hope of filling those skates.

Hendricks is a part-time player that is being overused. I do believe he brings value to the team. I think it would serve him well to play 2 be off 1, or play 1 then off 2. That would be the ideal role for him.
