all that said I still would make the deal they did. Same with the Yandle trade
- mrn22

I probably would also, but he definitely hasn't lived up to what we thought we were getting. I hated the Yandle trade when we made it and still hate it.

SCOTCH!?!
- mrn22

It was just an experiment, but it was pretty tasty. And since I am NOT a scotch drinker (unless it's in the several hundreds of dollars per bottle range), I didn't feel it was a waste!

they were on their way to winning the President's trophy and didn't feel comfortable going on a long Cup run with John Moore as their 6th defenseman

Ya not saying it's a bad trade, just that he hasn't lived up to the 7.8 million dollar contract.

Since the Duclair trade

Nash 87g 69a
Duclair 32g 46a

Nash also is 100x the player on the defensive side of the puck.

But, 9479 has me convinced - Duclair is far superior to Nash.

All for trading him at the deadline, there's no production from the Hayes line

I'd like to pick up a Vanek maybe at or around the deadline, still a useful RH shot we need

- KreiderBomb

Vin with the correct take. Completely agree.

Greg Wyshynski wrote possibly the dumbest article. We've seen 4,000 Tavares free agency articles and with all the good stuff going on with the Islanders lately he felt the need to basically write a Buzzfeed article with a fancy Tavares graphic that changes jerseys as you scroll down the list of potential teams.

He'd never go to San Jose or Vancouver. The Travel stinks. Sharks getting very old very fast.

If he wants to win sooner than later, he would probably stay in NYI, or sign in Tampa or TO...

I just meant since Duclair was traded those are the numbers between the two. Would much rather have Nash than Duclair.

How do you pay Matthews, Nylander, Marner and fill 3 more forward spots? Because JVR, Bozak, Komarov and Moore are all free agents.

Duclar has 11 goals in his last 80 games. While aslo spending time in the AHL, but I'd rather Duclair over David Deshairnais and Paul Carey.

Let Bozak, Komarov walk, trade JVR... their farm team is bursting with nhl ready cheap young players right now. Just saying I wouldn't put anything past LouLam... he usually figures something out. How does tampa/Chicago/Pitt fit all their high priced guys???

Well if we're gonna go down that road, I'd rather McDonagh didn't blast Zucc in the side of the head with the puck and then break his foot blocking a shot...but I digress
